Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge is an action adventure virtual reality game experience from ILMxLab in collaboration with Oculus Quest, where the players (you) are able to travel the planet Batuu with an unforgettable story, facing the intimidating villains such as Guavian Death Gang cell leader Tara Rashin. Players are also able to visit Seezelslak in his cantina to pick the missions that will take you into the wild world of Planet Batuu. This experience will also take place on the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost. You will also be able to take a role as an android repair technician operating near the planet, but when a group of pirates attack you, you can hit the escape pods and crash land and discover that anyone in the galaxy can be a hero.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge is a different VR product as it is transitioning to storyLIVING, where the players (you) are able to make consequential decision that drive their experience to the next level, giving the player to live their own live action adventure and exploring parts of the galaxy. With multiple styles of gameplay, the players are able to set the difficulty level setting in order to accommodate a wide range of players.

With this advance technology, it is only the right thing to bring back some familiar faces. As we all know, the fan favorite droid C-3PO is featured in Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge with Anthony Daniel back to reprise his role from all of the Star Wars films from Episode I to Episode IX, including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. (He appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but as a different character on the spice mines of Kessel.) We also learned that ILMxLab revealed another returning original character last Wednesday. It is confirmed that Frank Oz, the original actor of Yoda in the original Star Wars trilogy, is back to reprise his role as Jedi Master Yoda, who appeared in the new trailer for Oculus Quest, virtual reality game.

Due to the pandemic, the Galaxy’s Edge Disney parks attraction is not easy to be accessed. But this $25 VR adventure is the next best thing, with the main story allowing you to explore Batuu. The story timeline takes place between Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi and Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, long after Yoda’s death. You can also play as a Padawan in a mysterious Jedi temple on a short tale, which some speculate to take place before Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, decades before The Last Jedi.

The Supervisor of Creative Development and Experience Design at ILMxLAB, Jose Perez III, who created the groundbreaking projects across a number of world class intellectual properties as well as visual effects artist of Solo: A Star Wars Story, directed this highly anticipated virtual reality game experience, said:

“Yoda is one of the most iconic characters in Star Wars galaxy, thanks in large part of the incredible performance of Frank Oz.”

“Working with Frank to weave Yoda into the fabric of Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge was an unforgettable experience and a dream come true. I can’t wait for players to meet the Jedi Master face to face in our first exciting tale.” Said the twenty years of experience creative director, writer, animator in both film and interactive game industries."

Shaping up the reunion, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge from ILMxLAB with collaboration of The Oculus Quest VR adventure will be out on November 19th.
