Dreams Are Only Real When We Remember Them

I'm starting a YouTube channel.

I know, it sounds silly. How can a Youtube channel change anything?

YouTube is too random a place, with too many people, full of useless content... a waste of time.

But that's where we go. That's where people are. And we have to go where people are.

Metaphorically speaking, if we want to end slavery, we don't talk to the slaves' owners, we talk to the slaves. We inspire them.

I still have many doubts. I'm not sure about most things. But I learned to master these doubts through determination. When doubt paralyzes us with fear, hope is the only force that can nudge us forward.

My channel is about a new world. Not simply believing in a new world. That new world is already here. We just have to unveil it. Break it open. Make it happen, from us. You, me, the over 100 billion people who already walked this land. We all already felt this world at least once in our lives.

This channel is a mission. A mission to recruit those still brave enough. Those unafraid to take on impossible journeys.

This channel is about humankind and our role in the universe. About the quest presented to us. Here, at the epicenter of our environmental crisis, of our humanitarian crisis.

In a world that's just easier to hate, we ought to embrace heroes and villains from all narratives. Everyone has something to contribute towards this new world.

This channel is about us. About each one of us. No one is born evil. The events of the world have the power to make ourselves be perceived as good or evil. We are just people navigating this world through the winds of life's circumstances.

I've seen far too many people labeled as villains to be heroes where the night is dark and there's no no one there to witness. I've also seen the opposite. Far too many people with kind speeches that too often choose the path of immorality in certain moments of life.

I've been both. Most people have been both. It's just what we are.

My channel is about acknowledging that. That we are creatures still ruled by our biological limitations. By our tribalistic nature. By our desperation to accumulate resources. By our desire to hate everything that threatens the small world we understand.

My channel is about that. And more.

It's about us becoming more.

It's about evolution. About leaving behind the version of us that the world no longer needs.

My channel is about searching for that new version of us.

My channel is about believing this new version is already here.

There are people in this world who are already not so human when it comes to greed. Not so human when it comes to hate, when it comes to seeking power. The Earth no longer needs us so human anymore. We need to create a new version of humanity.

I believe evolution will lead us. It's happened many times in Earth's history. When bears no longer needed pigmentation, they became white. Then they became a new species--polar bears. When our ancestors no longer needed tails to hold on to trees, they lost it.

Now we no longer need greed, so it's about time we lose it. We already have enough for everyone.

Now we no longer need to fight other clans, other countries, other people. So it's about time we lose our cultural tribalism.

This channel is about breaking from our destructive nature. About how we part from the things in our nature that we no longer need.

It's about remembering all the dreams we once had. Not dreams of getting rich, or famous, or powerful. We are talking about deeper dreams, meaningful dreams. Those we've shut in the dark rooms of the impossible. Dreams of a better world, of impossible beauty.

No one is going to take us there. We'll have to find a path through our knowledge and our heart.

Our heart. Always the heart! Making us so easily feel what's so hard to comprehend.

It's hard to understand, I know. I don't understand either.

But we'll get there.

By evolving.

By becoming something new.

A new species.

A new mind.

My channel is about inspiring us to become this new version of us.

I'm not going to say the name of this channel here. I don't want anyone to think I'm here to promote it. Besides, the content is still crude, still taking shape.

However, more than that, I'm not talking about just a channel. It's an idea. An idea I had a long time ago, which it's only now becoming something tangible. I'll do it, not matter what. I don't care about prizes and recognition. Hoping is a great reward in itself.

This is what I'll be doing in 2022.
