Whether it be an active volcano, an underground lab, or a station on the moon, every villain needs a lair. We need a villainous stronghold for a dramatic overlord scene, and #Disney's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was no exception, where we saw #DarthVader suited up in his fiery black castle. Sadly, we barely got time to poke around and play Through the Keyhole as Ben Mendelsohn's Orson Krennic just popped by to relay some bad news. For those wanting to explore Vader on the next episode of Cribz, there is good news. According to latest reports, the Sith Lord's castle is tipped to return in future installments of the #StarWars franchise.

While you may question why you would live in a giant tower on the planet that turned you into a toasted marshmallow, we never got to look into #AnakinSkywalker's motivation for setting up shop on Mustafar. Lucasfilm VP and Executive Creative Director Doug Chiang spoke about the Vader base, but also let an unusually large spoiler slip through the cracks in the Force:

“It’s interesting, we did a lot of history exploration. Why did Vader build his castle here? Why does it look the way it does? Why does he even come here? For us, it was really figuring out that Vader built his castle on an existing structure, which was this ancient lava dam. And he built it here for a very specific reason. It was to come back here to meditate, to rejuvenate, to reconnect with himself. And it became a very spiritual place, and it was all centered around his bacta tank. And that’s where the form language all built around there. And we’ve done quite a bit of exploration of what’s on the inside of it as well, and hopefully that’ll be seen in some other film.”

The Future's Orange

Hold up, "some other film." This not only confirms that Vader is planned to return (duh), but that we will take another hot spa break to the glowing orange fires of Mustafar. Although #RogueOne filled in a few of the blanks between Anakin slipping on his helmet and that first scene of A New Hope, "The Vader Years" are still a largely unmarked territory. Even if we aren't going back to see Vader having some R&R, the continuing main series of films could take a future trip to Vader's castle.

Chiang says "hopefully," but with the set clearly designed, and Vader's castle even appearing in early sketches of Ralph McQuarrie’s Empire Strikes Back concept, this is one location that simply has to be returned to. Who knows, maybe #RianJohnson's upcoming #TheLastJedi will find #KyloRen having fled the Starkiller Base to his grandfather's house. While a lava moat may put most people off trespassing, it isn't enough to keep away those Vader hungry Star Wars fans.
