So with the arrival of Star Wars Day (May 4th), not only did we get the release of The Bad Batch, but it would appear we also got a little bit of a sneaky update on The Mandalorian season 3 from the main man himself - Dave Filoni.

Over the past few years, Filoni has gone from strength to strength and continues to keep fans wanting more and more from the galaxy far, far away. Jokingly considered the Padawan of George Lucas by fans, he has been at the helm of the most recent hits set within the Star Wars universe. He's clearly a busy man with a lot on his plate. In the last year, he has given us the final season of The Clone Wars, two seasons of The Mandalorian (working alongside Jon Favreau), and the newly released show The Bad Batch. Plus, he is an executive producer on the upcoming The Book of Boba Fett and writing Ashoka. That's a lot for one man to handle, yet he seems to be taking it in his stride, showing no signs of slowing down. Despite all he has on his plate, the content continues to remain amazing and of a high standard.

We have brought you updates recently regarding filming updates for The Book of Boba Fett, but there has been a distinct lack of news surrounding season 3 of The Mandalorian - until now.

Filoni took to Zoom to discuss what fans could expect from The Bad Batch, and it was highly anticipated that he would divulge more updates surrounding the other shows. But it wasn't to be. Instead, during an interview with Good Morning America, he provided a seemingly cryptic clue regarding production of The Mandalorian. When asked about it, he said:

"That's a tricky one. I don't like to go into those answers too much without my partner, Jon Favreau. It's exciting; we're both working on [The Mandalorian Season 3], we're working on [The Book of] Boba Fett right now."

Whilst this doesn't give us any dates or anything concrete, it confirms that they are both still working on The Mandalorian along with everything else. Fans had speculated before that we may see a longer gap between seasons 2 and 3 due to the other slated programs. However, this doesn't seem to be the case.

It's also worth mentioning he added that there would be more adventures set to come, sending fans into a further frenzy:

"There's a lot of new adventures coming up. I can't really say anything specific, but I think the Force will be strong with this, let's just say that."

This seems to confirm that Filoni has got plans to bring us more and more stories, possibly continuing working with Favreau. With season 2 of The Mandalorian ending with that amazing cameo from Luke Skywalker coming to take Grogu away, fans cannot wait to see what happens next. The first two seasons had a consistent plot narrative, but with the ending we got, I think it's safe to assume season 3 could literally explore anything and we could potentially see other familiar faces show up later down the line.

You can see the interview below which was posted on the Good Morning America Twitter page:

Hopefully, with The Book of Boba Fett supposedly finished filming and moving onto visual effects work in preparation for its December release date, we get a further in-depth update on The Mandalorian season 3 sometime soon.

Filoni is not known for spoilers and usually keeps tight lipped when it comes to revealing too much too soon, but the comments he gave seem to have reassured fans we will get to see the adventures of Din Djarin, potentially soon.

As always, we will bring new updates to you as and when they happen.

Until next time!
