Could Nibiru be the elusive Planet X?

Is it home to our ancient ancestors, the Anunnaki?

Having watched many episodes of the Ancient Aliens television series and read up on the theories of Russian-American author Zecharia Sitchin, I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt for the moment and accept the Anunnaki may have been an actual civilisation living on earth and mining for gold at the time of the Sumerian and Meso-American peoples.

And, given the technology ancient writings suggest they may have possessed, I’m also going to accept they were probably active in many centres on earth and figured in the development of the majority of our planet’s other ancient civilisations.

All ancient texts from across the globe appear to refer to gods who possessed incredible powers and I’m prepared to go along with the possibility that they all referred to the same ancient race, the Anunnaki.

If, for now, I accept these theories… then the next question is: did they, as the ancient astronaut theorists suggest, come from beyond the earth hundreds of thousands of years ago? And, if so, where from?

Sitchin, in his 1976 book “The 12th Planet”, tells of a celestial body that orbits our sun on a 3,600-year cycle called Nibiru, which he maintains is home to the Anunnaki; while another theorist, English author David Icke, suggests their origins are in the constellation Draco, which appears in the far northern sky.

Icke also suggests these extraterrestrials take a reptilian form and, not only do they come from another star system, they also come from another dimension.

According to Icke, the universe is actually a multiverse, with different dimensions occupying the same “space”… with the Anunnaki originating from a constellation which exists in a separate dimension to our own.

Even with my limited knowledge of physics I am aware the notion of a multiverse is a widely held hypothesis in some scientific circles, but for the time being I’m going to follow Sitchin’s assertions that, reptilian in form or not, the Anunnaki arrived on earth from a planet that orbits our sun in the opposite direction to earth.

But whether Nibiru is a planet or a mini-solar system seems open to debate, although it is believed to have an elliptical trajectory that brings it relatively close to the sun before swinging it out into deep space, beyond Neptune and the asteroid belt.

This cycle takes 3,600 years and is believed to have a profound effect on our solar system when it approaches other planets and swings around the sun.

Sitchin maintains it brought about a great flood in about 11,500 BC and that the gravitational effects of it passing earth’s orbit bring about extreme weather patterns.

Some theorists suggest that rather than being a single giant celestial body it is actually a brown dwarf, a distant, unseen companion of the sun several times larger than Jupiter, with a planetary system of its own.

Sitchin theorises that the planet is accompanied by a host of planetoids and moonlets, but other theorists believe these bodies, seven in all, orbit a dwarf star, with the innermost planet, the warmest and most hospitable for life, being home to the Anunnaki.

Another researcher Andy Lloyd, in his book entitled “Dark Star — The Planet X Evidence”, maintains the dwarf star does not actually enter the boundaries of the other planets in our solar system, but it’s “seventh moon" (Sitchin’s Nibiru) crosses between Neptune and Pluto, close enough and bright enough to be visible.

But what does NASA say? In early 2018 the organisation put out a press release stating researchers from Caltech had found evidence of what could be a real “Planet X” deep in the solar system.

“It's too early to say with certainty there's a so-called Planet X,” Jim Green, director of NASA's Planetary Science Division, said in the release. “What we're seeing is an early prediction based on modelling from limited observations. It's the start of a process that could lead to an exciting result."

The NASA scientists also accept that six distant objects in our solar system have orbits that reach beyond Neptune, which all extend in a single direction. This oddity, researchers think, indicates a large planet, possibly Planet X, could be the reason.

Caltech researcher Mike Brown co-discovered Planet X’s existence in the modelling study but is yet to directly observe it. He also played a key role in demoting Pluto’s status to a dwarf planet.

"All those people who are mad that Pluto is no longer a planet can be thrilled to know that there is a real planet out there still to be found," Brown said. "Now we can go and find this planet and make the solar system have nine planets once again."

So from a NASA perspective there is a possibility that another planet exists within our solar system that has not yet been observed, although it is quick to point out that conspiracy theories of an imminent catastrophic collision with the earth are pure fabrication.

So, back to the realms of speculation. A bit of simple maths reveals that if Nibiru was closest to the earth in 11,500 BC then it would also be in roughly the same position in 2,900 AD. However, given the relative orbits of the sun and the vast time it would take Nibiru to swing back into proximity of the sun and the solar system’s other planets, its effects could be felt for hundreds of years as it moves through the inner part of its orbit.

On the basis of a 3,600-year cycle it should have also had an impact on the earth around 7,900 BC, 4,300 BC and 700 BC.

Among the profound effects on our weather that Nibiru’s gravitational pull is believed to exert are tidal changes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and incredible storm surges, so if there is any substance to claims of its existence then such events should have also manifested themselves at these points in earth’s history.

So if we start with the most recent, 700 BC, is there anything in the history books to suggest this may have happened?

A quick search on the internet reveals that in 760 BC a major earthquake occurred in Israel, which may have been towards the end of Jeroboam II’s rule.

Mentioned in the Book of Amos, geologists are believed to have found evidence of this large earthquake in sites throughout Israel and Jordan.

Archeologists Yigael Yadin and Israel Finkelstein1 date the earthquake level at Tel Hazor to 760 BC based on stratigraphic analysis of the destruction debris. Similarly, David Ussishkin arrives at the same date based on the “sudden destruction” level at Lachish.

According to Steven Austin, the magnitude of this earthquake may have been at least 7.8, but more likely as high as 8.2. “This magnitude eight event of 750 BC appears to be the largest yet documented on the Dead Sea transform fault zone during the last four millennia.”

Travelling back through time to the period around 4,300 BC and once again there is evidence of significant seismic activity around the world, with the Masaya Volcano in Central America erupting in 4,050 BC, the Avachinsky Volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula in 4,340 BC and the Macauley Island Volcano in the Kermadec Islands around 4,360 BC. This period was also thought to have seen the world’s seas and oceans reaching their highest levels since the glacial melt at the end of the last Ice Age… their highest level in 20,000 years.

The next period of interest is around 7,900 BC when two significant events happened during approximately that time.

More than 8,000 years ago, 60 miles to the north of the Norwegian coast, a huge chunk of land roughly the size of Iceland broke off the European continental shelf and plunged into the depths of the Norwegian Sea.

Probably caused by an earthquake that destabilised the methane hydrates found trapped there, 840 cubic miles of sediment spread over 1,000 miles into the abyssal plain below, covering an area of about 36,700 square miles. The ensuing tsunami wreaked havoc on all surrounding landmasses.

At the time sea levels were 46 feet lower than they are today but sediment deposits originating from the Storegga Slide have been discovered 50 miles inland in some places, and 20 feet above current tide levels. With waves exceeding 80 feet and travelling in all directions, Scotland, England, Norway, Iceland, Faroe, the Orkney and Shetland Islands, Greenland, Ireland, and the Netherlands would all have been severely affected.

The last remnant of land that once connected the British Isles to mainland Europe, known as Doggerland, was completely swept over by the deluge, thus creating the North Sea we know today.

And, occurring around 8,200 years ago, a deluge in North America plunged the planet into a dramatic 150-year cold spell after rising water in North America saw Lake Agassiz merge with Lake Ojibway.

Their joining proved short-lived and their waters soon drained into Hudson Bay, causing major flooding in all corners of the world, from the Americas, Europe, Africa, Arabia, South Asia, and the Pacific Islands.

Many submerged settlements have been found all over the world, which seem to date from this period, which may suggest it was actually this event that brought about the great flood.

The worst flooding centred in eastern Europe’s Black Sea, which at the time had been nothing more than a freshwater lake. But with the rapid sea-level rise, the Bosporus Strait partially gave way and water from the Mediterranean poured into the lake to form the Black Sea.

The speed at which this happened is the subject of much debate but its effects may have lasted for three centuries and flooded 60,000 square miles of land.

So, where am I going with all this? Undoubtedly, many of the ancient civilisations seem to have had a clear understanding of the cosmos, with Nibiru’s passage through our solar system an integral part of this knowledge.

It’s possible they learned this from the Anunnaki, who originated from this planet, and foretold of its return to our part of the solar system, with its gravitational effects influencing weather systems and seismic activity here on earth.

Without witnessing its last passage of our planet it becomes a matter of conjecture as to when it may next be close enough to earth to have an impact. One thing is certain though, something big enough to have such a profound effect should be clearly visible in the night sky long before it affects our planet.

There have been suggestions it approached the sun in 2011 and began forcefully “pulling” at its core, which is said to be only 65 times that of Nibiru.

But with the world’s biggest radio telescope in Guizhou, China, becoming fully operational at the start of the year there should be no problem spotting it if that were so.

The FAST (Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical Telescope) was conceived with the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) in mind, with Russian billionaire Yuri Milner’s Breakthrough Initiatives joining forces with the Bill Gates-funded Chinese Academy of Sciences’ National Astronomical Observatories to create the US$100 million Breakthrough Listen Inititiative, a 10-year effort to conduct a “comprehensive and intensive search for advanced life on other worlds”.

Once again it begs the question, do these billionaires know something they’re not divulging to mankind as a whole?
