Constitutional Ai Framework (CAF)

My mission to govern Ai assisted decision making

Soooooo, I watched a documentary on Peacock about Ai. The major problem presented was regulating the issues that will likely present themselves as Artificial Intelligence is implemented at the highest levels of life and government. It’s the new Cold War brewing between the U.S., Russia, and China.

The scariest question presented was: Who will create the best ai for deciding to bomb whoever they want, the most efficiently way possible, without the burden of conscience?

The reality is that governments will progress this agenda so as not to lose the modern equivalent of the post WWII nuclear arms race.

But currently world governments expect the Silicon Valley creators to regulate it and the Silicon Valley creators think the government should. In fact they are calling out to the general public to make the government make them put in protections and tell us what they should be.

Typical.

Clearly the trillion dollar question is: How do we govern Artificial Intelligence so that it doesn’t kill us all in our sleep? I believe I have the START of an answer. At least how I intend to use it.

I wrote an article on ethical use of Ai as a writer on Vocal here:

Personally I use Ai to do research so I can make better choices. Devoid of prejudice, external influence, and excess emotion but never at the cost of my deeply held values and conscience. I made that mistake in the recent past and am paying the price.

I expect Ai to help me make better choices. So I programmed a constitution for making Ai assisted decisions that aren’t just intelligent but are wise and grounded in reality. As much as we can measure what reality is.

I will release more about the functions and details of the constitution in the near future.*

*I did write it and the constitution is here:

Below is the founder's letter I wrote for my reasoning:

Founder's Letter

Foundational Draft

I did not begin this project because I wanted to build an artificial intelligence framework.

I began it because I wanted to make better decisions.

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by one question:

 What is true?

That question has shaped the way I have approached nearly every important area of my life. It has led me to challenge my own assumptions, examine my own inconsistencies, and continually ask whether my beliefs, decisions, and actions truly align with reality.

Over the years I have become increasingly concerned that many of the institutions people once looked to for guidance have lost public trust. Whether in business, government, education, media, or other areas of society, I have often found it difficult to know what information deserves confidence and what motivations lie behind it.

I have also come to recognize that the greatest obstacle to discovering truth is often not ignorance.

 It is ourselves.

Ego.

Fear.

Self-interest.

Confirmation bias.

The temptation to defend conclusions rather than examine them.

Those tendencies exist in every human being, including me.

That realization changed the question I was asking.

 Instead of asking,

“How can artificial intelligence become more intelligent?”

 I began asking,

“How can artificial intelligence help people become wiser?”

I believe AI presents one of the greatest opportunities in human history—not because it should replace human judgment, and not because it is free from error, but because, if governed wisely, it may help us recognize our inconsistencies, organize evidence more honestly, and make decisions that are more faithfully aligned with our deepest values and our understanding of reality.

This Framework is my attempt to build that form of governance.

Its purpose is not to tell people what they should believe.

Its purpose is to help people make decisions that are transparent, internally consistent, grounded in evidence, and accountable to reality while remaining faithful to their own declared mission, values, and ethical convictions.

My own lifelong pursuit has been the pursuit of truth.

I do not expect everyone to begin from the same worldview that I do. In fact, this Framework was intentionally designed to allow individuals and institutions to openly declare their own missions, values, and ethical commitments rather than hide them behind claims of neutrality.

Transparency builds understanding.

Understanding makes accountability possible.

I do not believe this Framework is complete. In fact, I hope it never is. Not because reality changes, but because our understanding of reality continues to grow.

Every discovery is an opportunity to improve. Every honest criticism is an opportunity to learn. Every correction is an opportunity to become more aligned with reality than we were before.

If this Framework ever becomes more interested in defending itself than learning, then it will have abandoned the very principles upon which it was founded.

My hope is not that people agree with every article contained within these pages. My hope is that they adopt the discipline of seeking reality, pursuing truth, and welcoming correction.

I built this Framework because I want to make the best decisions I can for myself, for those entrusted to my care, and for the future generations who will inherit a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

If these ideas help others do the same, then this work has served its purpose.
