The final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars was full of epic moments and dazzling spectacles, featuring some of our favorite characters in all of Star Wars. Darth Maul played a huge role, facing off in several epic lightsaber battles, including one against former Jedi Ahsoka Tano. In honor of the incredible climax of the series and Maul's presence as one of the most iconic Star Wars villains, Hot Toys is adding a new Darth Maul Sixth Scale Collectible Figure to their Star Wars: The Clone Wars collection.

Sideshow recaps Maul's involvement in the events of the last episodes of The Clone Wars:

"In the climactic final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Darth Maul orchestrated the siege of Mandalore™ as a means to draw Anakin Skywalker™ and Obi-Wan Kenobi™ to him with plans to kill Skywalker and deprive Darth Sidious™ of his new apprentice. When he was greeted by Ahsoka Tano™ instead, he made the most of the situation by offering to form an alliance, two outcast apprentices joining forces to put a stop to the creeping evil of the Sith. After clashing lightsabers in the throne room of the capital city, Ahsoka turned Maul's own weapon against him and was able to capture the former Sith Lord for the Republic."

This new Hot Toys figure is extremely detailed, with several options for posing and even including interchangeable pieces. It is 29 cm tall, and includes a body with over 30 points of articulation. Each head sculpt is even hand-painted, which adds an impeccable unique quality to each individual figure.

"Skillfully crafted with authentic styling, the sixth scale collectible figure features a newly developed head sculpt with stunning likeness and separate rolling eyeballs system, finely tailored outfit, highly detailed mechanical legs, Maul’s iconic double-bladed lightsaber and interchangeable lightsaber blades emulating the weapon in motion, a selection of interchangeable hands for posing options, and a specially designed Mandalorian sarcophagus inspired box."

The figure also comes with a specially designed stand with the Star Wars logo and a character nameplate.

The new Darth Maul figure is, unfortunately, not releasing until October 2021, but it is available for pre-order now at a price point of $260.

This figure makes me think particularly of episodes 11 and 12 of the final season of The Clone Wars, especially when considering the other figures currently available for pre-order, including Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex. In the final episodes, Rex and Ahsoka escape Order 66 together, and Ahsoka uses Maul as a distraction, releasing him from imprisonment. This is an incredible finale where these three characters cross paths, and that is what makes the release of the three figures together so cool.

The Ahsoka Tano Sixth Scale Collectible Figure and the Captain Rex Sixth Scale Collectible Figure each also feature hand-painted head sculpts, over 30 points of articulation on the body, and retail for $250 and $255 respectively. Both of these are also available for pre-order, releasing in 2021.

About the Ahsoka Tano figure:

"The greatly detailed collectible figure is specially crafted with authentic styling featuring a skillfully crafted head sculpt with stunning likeness and articulated head-tails, specialized body to portray Ahsoka’s physique, finely tailored outfit and armor pieces, Ahsoka’s iconic lightsabers, a cloak, and a display base!"

And about the Captain Rex figure:

"The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the appearance of Clone Captain Rex in the acclaimed animation series featuring meticulously crafted and finely detailed recreation of Rex’s distinctive Clone Trooper armor and helmet, interchangeable head sculpt with amazing likeness, skillfully applied weathering effects, his signature dual blaster pistols as well as a blaster rifle, a detachable jetpack, an Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper helmet, and a figure base!"

You can check out Sideshow for other Star Wars figures that are available for pre-order, including figures from The Mandalorian, the original trilogy, and more!
