Capricorn (Capricornus) is an earth sign and the smallest constellation in the zodiac. Although its stars are not the brightest ones in the heavens, it can be seen with the naked eye. According to Greek mythology Capricorn is sometimes thought to be Pan, the god of nature, shepherds and flocks. He had the ears, horns and the hind legs of a goat but when Typhon, one of the deadliest, gigantic serpentine creatures tried to kill him, he transformed his legs into a long fish’s tail and dove into a river to escape it. Unfortunately, since Capricorn was a horny little devil, used to be a real lady-killer, because of his new not so becoming appearance, they fled as soon as they saw him coming.

Capricorns possess a strong desire for success, money, power and even love. You have the patience of an oyster, which allows you to wait for long periods of time for the things you desire. That doesn’t mean you won’t work hard to reach your goals, as a matter of fact, you’re a workaholic. Being a perfectionist, you are continually competing with yourself and when you do a great job, you’re not interested in being praised for your achievement, a simple pat on the back will do.

A Capricorn needs to be completely self-sufficient. Depending on others and having to cater to their needs can drive you crazy. Although you are the one often in charge, a team leader or even a military general surrounded by soldiers awaiting your orders, you often feel very lonely. You are constantly worried that whatever you do may mean failure—you have to succeed. One of your greatest fears is when you question your own authority. When things look like they are going to fall apart, on the brink of destruction, you take the bull by the horns so to speak and force yourself to see it to the end rather than give up. As long as there is a light at the end of the tunnel, you will persevere to accomplish your aspirations.

Since security is so important to you, all the I’s have to be dotted, debits and credits balanced to the penny, having a career as an accountant might be the ticket. Also, because you analyze everything to the nth degree, you might consider becoming a lawyer. However, whatever your career choice, since you tend to make good investments, which generally pay off very well, you and yours should be well looked after in your later years.

Capricorns live within the realities of life and allow very little time for idle pleasantries. Although you sometimes seem solemn and melancholy, your exceptionally funny wit is well noted. You admire and are drawn to people that are self-sufficient, fond of music and art. You are not interested in someone’s messy life but are attracted to those that are even-keeled. And anyone that shares and respects the same values as your own, you will be attracted to them like a big black bear to honey. Although you are a master at concealing your feelings, which makes it hard to get to know the real you, anyone gaining your trust will be well rewarded and forever a loyal friend.

When it comes love, sex and romance, you are not easily enticed. Due to sometimes being too intense, mechanical, dispassionate and methodical, you may not know that you were in love with that special person right from the very first time you laid eyes on them. Since everything is an investment for you, even love, before you jump into bed with anyone, you’ve spent a lot of time in a platonic relationship with them. That’s not to mean you are insensitive to the warmth and touch of another person or that you don’t get horny, it’s just that you want everything to be right and you want a marriage that’s going to work for a lifetime. Capricorns tend to marry for money and security and having a fondness for materialism, a Taurus or Pisces may make the ideal mate.

The one thing about a Capricorn is that when the going gets tough, you are dependable and will be there till the very end. There is nothing wishy-washy about you, anyone that has gained your trust and loyalty can lean on you for almost anything.
