Had this been in a movie at the theater we would have heard the crowd lapse into a hush before excitedly exploding as they witnessed the debut of one of the Star Wars Universe’s more intriguing characters, Cad Bain. How quickly that excitement would have turned to a hush as their sad disappointment filled the theater.

Cad Bane’s demise in the Star Wars series The Book Of Boba Fett felt like it was too soon to wipe out such an intriguing character.

The Names Cad, Cad Bane

Cad Bane is a villainous character in the Star Wars franchise. The character of Cad Bane first appeared in the 2008 animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. His depiction as a ruthless bounty hunter from the planet Duro made him the perfect addition to the newest series in the Disney Plus Star Wars lineup, The Book Of Boba Fett.

Often employed by other villains, including the Separatist Alliance, Bane was known for using weapons and gadgets specifically designed to counter the powers of a Jedi Knight. Cad Bane was regarded as one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy.

Following the conclusion of The Clone Wars, we next see Bane appear in the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch and then he came to face off with Boba Fett. Bane has also been featured in the Star Wars comic books and video games.

Will We See Bane Again

It is too soon to really know the future of Cad Bane. In the Star Wars universe, and in fiction, Bane could be both brought back to life and make appearances in earlier timed events from the canon. One thing is for sure, I’m not alone in saying that they should bring Bane back to the Star Wars universe and use him in a much grander way.

Cad Bane’s ruthlessness as a cutthroat assassin rivaled that of even Jengo Fett and young Boba Fett. In the Clone Wars, Bane was known for taking on and holding a full-fledged Jedi Knight at bay. Anyone with the cunning, skills, and ruthlessness to hold off a Jedi Knight is worthy of more time on screen.

There are a lot of different ways we could see the return of Cad Bane. What little we know of his homeworld and his people could be expounded upon and lead to him being harder to kill than his final scene in Book of Boba Fett. Perhaps he’ll return as a younger version of himself in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Bane would make an ideal hunter for the young empire to hire to hunt down and eradicate the remainder of the Jedi. Perhaps there’s hope that we’ll see some more of this intriguing character. After all, we thought Boba Fett was gone, and look how that turned out.

If Bane does return, Tatooine at an earlier point in the Star Wars Saga could be the ideal place for the ruthless bounty hunter that Obi-Wan would likely describe as a piece of vile, wretched, scum. Having faced his young apprentice, Annakin Skywalker, Bane could even find himself staring into the eyes of a young Luke. The crossing of many paths as Bane hunts through the streets of Mos Eisley, Mos Espa, and around the Dune seas could be the ideal reason to put Bane on the sandy grounds of Tattoine.

One of our favorite heroes once spent time working the scummy, villainous types. And, while he's dead in the current movies, in the right timeline we could see Bane hitching a ride with a certain Wookie and his handsome, hotshot pilot partner. Seeing the Millenium Falcon fly into action one, or a dozen more times would no doubt send chills down the backs of die-hard fans.

Conclusion

Hopefully, the Star Wars Universe isn't done with Cad Bane. There are dozens of ways to bring him back to an early time, not to mention some creative writing could resurrect the blue-faced villain. It's all in the hands of Disney and the writers.
