Best Things I Love About Being a Scorpio
Highlighting the advantages of being this astrological sign of the zodiac
I've never been that big into astrology until most recently. Years ago, I liked knowing my daily horoscope in accordance with my zodiac sign. The topic that's the main focus of this story is far different than the ones I've been used to writing on here. So, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and talk about something insightful outside of sports. If you're a Scorpio, this story is for you. I'll be highlighting some things on this list that I love the most about being one. When you're done reading this story, let me know in the comments below if one of more of these items relate to you. Before I do that, here's a bit of a background about me.
For context, I was born on November 13 and on a Friday. You might think that being born on the 13th of any month automatically spells bad luck. That thought hovered over my head for God knows how long. However, all hope is not lost. Two of the personality traits that I've recently researched was individuals who were born on the 13th of any calendar month are goal-oriented and organized. Both of those traits are relatable to me.
The following Scorpio traits I love on this list are not in any particular order.
Doing Things Halfway is Not What We Do
Us Scorpios don't believe in half-assing everything. When things and times are difficult, we do whatever it takes to achieve our tasks and goals. Be a bad ass, not a weak ass in life.
We Have Zero Tolerance for BS
You have to resign to the fact that everyone is full of shit. That's hard to hear but it's the honest truth. Scorpios can tell whether someone is dishonest and full of lies a mile away. Also, we heavily dislike people who has a plethora of excuses and refuse to take any accountability for their actions. If you've read any of my sports-related stories on Vocal, I called some of these athletes out on their hypocrisy and being terrible people. In one of my previous stories, I discussed the ways that I was a no-nonsense writer. You can read the full story in the link below, in case you missed it. Taking accountability shows growth, while constant excuses slow it.
We Prefer to Keep Our Circles Small
I'm nearing 40 and prefer to have a select, small group of friends in my inner circle. A few years ago, I was planning to go to my then friend's house to hang out with him. I went to a grocery store to buy some candy. Just to let everyone know that this was on a Saturday and Halloween was days away. The sun started to go down and called him that I was on the way. I've been contacting him via text throughout the day to confirm the plans, without one reply. I sent him a text and he finally responded. He said to the effect that he didn't need me there and didn't feel like hanging out with me. I went home disappointed and heartbroken. Days later, I saw a post from my friend and with other friends of mine hanging out with each other. This was on the same day we were supposed to hang out and he lied to me. Today, I'm more selective of who deserves to be part of my circle. The former friend that I just discussed: we met back in 2016 when we were both cosplayers. The last time we actually hung out with each other was back in March 2017 when we saw the Power Rangers reboot at a movie theater with a group of other people. Keep in mind that it was raining that day. I had a great time, and we still saw each other at cons until the aforementioned incident occurred.
We're Brutally Honest and Don't Sugarcoat Anything
Whether someone is famous or not, I refuse to coddle people and defend their bad behavior. What ever happened to grace, you ask? Grace is reserved for a select few. There are too many people who make excuses for other's unbecoming behavior. I'm not afraid to be honest about people, whether I know them personally or not. No one is safe from criticism, regardless of age, status, race, et cetera. People need to be told the truth, and others need to start being honest with people. In my stories about the Houston Astros, I gave my honest takes and made no excuses for them. I refuse to tone down my harsh demeanor or apologize for telling things like they are.
Peace Is Our Best Friend
I value peace more than entertaining drama. That's why I've been estranged from my parents since 2011. Drama will drain a Scorpio, while peace will never fail you. Don't let your peace disrupt any outside distractions that are present. I love a peaceful environment and by doing so, I go out on walks, working out at the gym, and listening to music. So, remember that being in peace in your own comfort zone is a much better choice.
