In the age of whistleblowers, your world can come crumbling down in a second, but as the saying goes "the truth will set you free." Wouldn't you want to know the truth? And do you fully trust government? Now is the time to throw out what you’ve learned in school regarding what the world is and how it works. There are forces in the world that seem beyond comprehension, but there is always something worth understanding in everything that seems unexplainable. And from that grain of the unexplainable, a conspiracy theory is born. The Oxford English Dictionary defines conspiracy theory as "the theory that an event or phenomenon occurs as a result of a conspiracy between interested parties; spec. a belief that some covert but influential agency (typically political in motivation and oppressive in intent) is responsible for an unexplained event." We’ve compiled a list of the best conspiracy theory books that provide you with a stripped-down, objective, eye-opening view on a variety of conspiracy theories. It is up to you to decide, based on logic and evidence, what the truth really is.

When they hear the words "The Federal Reserve," most people's reaction is either, "what is that?" or "oh yeah, where they print the money." But most don’t know the history of how the Fed came to be and the controversy that surrounds it. In fact, many believe that the Federal Reserve is part of the ultimate conspiracy within the government. In his book, The Creature From Jekyll Island, G. Edward Griffin provides insight into the secret international interests and subsequent political relationships of the bankers who created the Federal Reserve System. The reason that The Federal Reserve has had unrelenting controversy is the way it was created. The Federal Reserve Act, passed in 1913, gave the Fed autonomous authority over the US government’s currency and created the Income Tax. Having this autonomy has raised some eyebrows, and there has been speculation that the Fed created the Great Depression, wars, and manipulated currency values throughout the world. This book is about the most blatant scam of all time. Griffin cuts through the obscurities about the Fed that are intentionally put in place to mystify and disarm people of the US as well as the world. Convinced that the subject of money and banking is too enigmatic and complicated to understand, citizens are trapped in a world view that utterly fails to align with reality. The money manipulators, says Griffin, are exploiting our ignorance for the advancement of their own grisly plans; The urgency of awakening us to our danger has driven Griffin to write this extraordinary book.

Have the Nazi's infiltrated America? Maybe, says author Jim Marrs. In his book, The Rise of the Fourth Reich: The Secret Societies That Threaten to Take Over America, Marrs reveals the frighteningly real possibility that today the United States is becoming the Fourth Reich, the continuation of an ideology thought to have been vanquished more than a half century ago. The concept of America continuing the Nazi Doctrine is somewhat of an oxymoron. To some, it is an absurd and almost insulting thought but Marrs puts forth startling evidence that, while United States helped defeat the Germans in World War II in Europe, we failed to defeat the Nazis coming to the US. At the end of the war, some top ranking Nazis who fell through the cracks of war tribunals wormed their way through corporate America, using stolen loot from Europe and establishing some of the most powerful companies still in existence today. Many of the Nazis' top scientists came to the United States under classified programs such as Project Paperclip, where they helped create advanced weapons technology and win the space race against Russia. In addition to business and science, the Nazi philosophy infiltrated our borders. This ideology was based on the authoritarian premise that the end justifies the means. This also included unprovoked wars of aggression and curtailment of the public’s individual civil liberties. Marrs explains that there is obvious evidence that the US you see today couldn’t be possible without their intervention. This book shows compelling evidence that an effort has been underway for the past 60 years to bring a form of National Socialism to modern America, creating, in essence, a modern empire—or "Fourth Reich."

Since modern man walked, planet Earth has been plagued by a multitude of scientific experiments. Science and technology have aided in an explosion of top secret and highly classified experiments conducted throughout the planetary surface, as well as deep within the Earth’s crust. However, none comes close to the degree of the 24/7, 365 day-a-year damage inflicted on the biosphere as the DARPA-sponsored program of geo-engineering, better known as HAARP. One element of this secret geo-engineering program is known as chemtrails. For those who have never heard of chemtrails, they are not to be confused with contrails, which are the normal exhaust vapors ejected from jet engines in flight. Chemtrails are abnormal steaks sometimes creating cross patterns in the sky. Many are under suspicion that the government is taking advantage of this scientific phenomenon to secretly release potentially harmful substances into the atmosphere. Elana M. Freeland's startling conspiracy theory book, Chemtrails, HAARP, and the Full Spectrum Dominance of Planet Earth, sifts through the differences surrounding chemtrails and contrails and how extreme weather is being "geo-engineered" to enrich disaster capitalists and intimidate nations. The book also points to other covert agendas, such as global warming, the need for a "Smart Grid" infrastructure that enables access to everybody and brain on Earth… case and point—Facebook! Many believe that Facebook can control your mind, and that's just the beginning. Geo-enginering is just the start of a transhumanist future that blurs lines between human and machine. Freehand also envisions the nightmarish future of nanobiological hybrids armed with microprocessers infesting and harming human bodies through the air we breathe. The reader of this book needs to understand that, when it pertains to the potential destruction of our habitat, geo-engineering rules supreme in its ability to render the planet unfit for life. That includes all life—human, animal, and plant.

In respects to civilization, most anthropologists and archaeologists will tell you outright that man as we know him today is the most technically advanced and smartest to ever walk this Earth. Many of us become complacent in what we’ve been told and don’t question the "professionals." But others have embraced a radical idea that we aren’t the first. How do we know for certain that there wasn’t intelligent life before us? How can we be so certain when new evidence pops up around the world. And why do the "professionals" deny or skirt around the very idea that our history is wrong. In Graham Hancock’s book, Fingerprints of the Gods: The Evidence of Earth's Lost Civilization, he investigates those ideas which have now begun to rip the very fabric of who we are as a people. Hancock uses tools as varied as archaeo-astronomy, geology, and computer analysis of ancient myths. The conspiracy theory book lays out new evidence to the possible true origins of civilization while showing the connections between puzzling clues scattered throughout the world. Hancock delivers compelling evidence of a technologically and culturally advanced civilization before the Ice Age that was destroyed and obliterated from human memory.

It's now been over four decades since Neil Armstrong took his "one giant leap for mankind" If, that is, he even set foot off this planet. In his conspiracy theory book, The NASA Conspiracies: The Truth Behind the Moon Landings, Censored Photos, and The Face on Mars, Nick Redfern offers up that there is a much more mysterious world then you perceive. Many believe NASA has been linked to a wealth of high-level cover-ups, including one of the most well-known and controversial space conspiracy theories. Some include: claims that the Apollo moon landings of 1969 to 1972 were faked, withholding the truth about the controversial face on Mars, involvement in the famous UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico, the secrecy around the "does not exist" Area 51, and secrets concerning the US government's interactions with aliens. Redfern’s examination of NASA questions everything that the Space Agency has kept closed for so long and exposes a darker and more malevolent force creeping in the shadows.

On September 11, 2001, the world changed forever. For some, 9/11 brings back sad and dark memories. For others, it raised many questions about what actually happened that day. After 9/11 there was a movement for the truth, later dubbed "9/11 Truth." The "9/11 Truther" motive was to reveal the government's truthfulness and involvement regarding the World Trade Center and Pentagon terrorist attacks. Many think that 9/11 was an inside job and a false flag event to initiate the Patriot Act, the start of marshall law and loss of our Bill of Rights. In the well-researched conspiracy theory book, The New Pearl Harbor Revisited: 9/11, the Cover-Up, and the Exposé, author Professor David Ray provides evidence and raises new issues that discuss "the two most important official reports about 9/11," the 9/11 Commission Report and the National Institute of Standards and Technology report on the Twin Towers. Griffith addresses many points in exhaustive detail, from the physical impossibility of the official explanation of the towers' collapse to the Commission's failure to scrutinize the administration to the NIST's contradiction of its own scientists to the scads of eyewitness and scientific testimony in direct opposition to official claims. Citing thousands of sources, Griffith's analysis is far from either conservative or paranoia. His case, though not conclusive, raises enough compelling and disturbing questions to make his call for a new investigation more persuasive than ever.

In recent years concerned parents, doctors, scientists, and politicians have made the link between autism and vaccines a hot topic in the news due to a controversial paper written in 1998. Medical researcher Andrew Wakefield published a research paper claiming he had found a link between autism and gastrointestinal problems and then later clarified that his findings showed a direct correlation between measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines and autism. Since then, his career has been destroyed by the publishing of this "fraudulent" research paper. Despite this discrediting, many have begun to view vaccinations as a no-win situation. In his conspiracy theory book, Vaccine Whistleblower: Exposing Autism Research Fraud at the CDC, Esq. Kevin Barry, tells the account of four legally recorded phone conversations between him and four doctors from the CDC. The transcripts disclose a pattern of data manipulation, fraud, and corruption at the highest levels of the CDC. This book nullifies the government’s claims that "vaccines are safe and effective," and reveals that the government rigged research to cover up the link between vaccines and autism. Scientific truth and the health of American children have been compromised to protect the vaccine program and the pharmaceutical industry. Some think the doctor's claims may have endangered children around the world and confused parents in trying to make the right health choices for their children. Others believe that they are being lied to by the highest levels of the government that is in charge of protecting the health of Americans at the cost of making a dollar.

One of the most hotly contested and talked about conspiracy theories in history, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, continues to mystify people even today. In the book Cold Case Kennedy: A New Investigation Into the Assassination of JFK, author and forensic auditor Flip de Mey systematically scrutinizes all aspects of the murder dossier to discover what really happened on that day in Dallas, Texas in 1963. Using his experience as a forensic investigator, he unravels the fraud and other irregularities in the original medical records, showing the inconsistencies between what the media and government have told us and what really happened. De Mey also provides a quite plausible take on the framing of the patsy Lee Harvey Oswald. Many people will disagree with de May's portrayal of the truth about this particular conspiracy but it is evident that people will be talking about this for years to come.

Remember that movie Manchurian Candidate? Well where do you think that idea came from? Mind control is a real thing and has been proven since declassified documents were released from the 1950s through 1970s. In his book, Your Thoughts Are Not Your Own: Mind Control, Mass Manipulation and Perception Management, author Neil Sanders presents the seeds to mind control with declassified documents, interviews with the doctors involved, scientific papers, and mainstream media reports that make mind control a more plausible idea. In one notorious program, Project MKUltra, from 1953 to 1964, the Central Intelligence Agency conducted dozens of experiments on the effects of biological and chemical agents on American citizens without their knowledge. These covert experiments included subjecting the unsuspecting patients to hallucinogenic drugs and other chemicals. The program’s motivation was defensive, in that many were afraid during the Cold War that the Russians and Chinese had already developed weapons in this area. Project MKUltra consisted of 149 sub-projects, many of which appear to have some connection with research into behavioral modification, drug acquisition, and testing or administering drugs surreptitiously. After this project was declassified, many questions were raised regarding if we are being controlled. How would we know if tests were implemented into our society at a large scale? Is it crazy to think that the things we consume might be, unbeknownst to us, brainwashing us into being an unwitting assassin? Crazy, but not far fetched.

We saved the best for last: the mother of all conspiracy theory books, one about the New World Order. In the book, Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in Our Time, Carroll Quigley tells the account of a secret global elite that has impacted nearly every modern historical event. The book traces the evolution of the New World Order throughout world history beginning with the industrial revolution and imperialism through two world wars, the Great Depression, and the rise of communism. This is the most authoritative collection of information on the world's power structure and an essential source material for understanding the history, goals and actions of the New World Order. A must read!
