anything is possible.

Have you ever seen a television show, cartoon, movie, or read a comic book or science fiction novel in which the premise was about artificial intelligence taking over and usually being a force of bad/evil? There are plenty of depictions out there that paint that type of a picture.

Now, I get that we as people have a pretty amazing ability to utilize our imaginations, yet I can never come to understanding why the idea of artificial intelligence taking over is such a popular subject. I mean, sure, Hollywood is a sucker for pumping that out as a story line, but still...

Why is it so popularized?

I guess the same could be said about zombies. I guess the same could also be said about Super Heroes too, with super powers. Also, aliens and alien invasions. Can't forget about "the end of the world" scenarios, or any of the other countless, insane, intense, cataclysmic, catastrophic ideas that have been popularized throughout time and time again.

However, this whole thing about artificial intelligence is just eerie. I'm a believer in the idea that anything is possible and nothing is impossible, despite the scientific big wigs that would beg to differ with scientific facts and the rules of reality, such as the laws of physics and what-not, but that hasn't stopped me from believing anything is possible.

Which leads me to the reason why you came across this article to begin with. Sure, it is possible that something like artificial intelligence can take over and pretty much have the same results of the countless depictions in Hollywood or in novels. That being said...

I don't believe it will happen.

I don't feel that is a probable outcome in our reality, in our timeline. Artificial intelligence dominating us and being our master. It just doesn't seem like a probable thing.

For that to even become a reality, artificial intelligence would have had to stemmed from us. I mean we as the human specie created and developed computers, the internet, machinery that can build and create. Every decade we become so much more advanced than the previous. Was it the 60's or 70's when there were computers the size of giant walk-in closets? Now in 2020 we have computers that can fit in our pockets called, "smart phones." We have touch screen laptops, and holograms that look so real, from a certain distance we would believe the person being projected as the hologram is actually there, physically.

It is no doubt that we have become insanely advanced and we haven't even reached the tip of advancement. Could you imagine what we as a specie will have in 50 years? We can't even fathom that right now because our consciousness has no reference to those type of things that could come out by then. I mean if you were to tell someone in the 60's about computers being able to fit in the pockets of their pants, they may laugh or think, "perhaps, maybe in the super future."

Now come to think about it...

People from the 50's and 60's did believe we would have flying cars and crazy concepts of advanced technology by the year 2000 and up. Oh boy, how off they were with those assumptions. That doesn't take away from the notion that it was popular to believe that by the year 2000 and beyond we would be living in the "future" depicted in a very science fiction type of way.

We really aren't that off for creating flying cars, I once heard about some company creating a cop vehicle that could hover/fly a maximum height off the ground of a street light. You would have to do some research to find that, it has been a while since I heard about that, but long story short it wasn't introduced into public domain because the problems that could be caused by something like that. I think we as a society aren't even ready for something like that if it were to come out today. We are too destructive.

I seem to be getting off topic here, let me fall back in line. If you think about it, artificial intelligence can be a very real thing, we went from the giant computers the size of walk-in closets to pocket-sized computers that fit in our pockets, and holograms. Also, for some time now, developers of technologies have been working on robots and artificial things. So, if they kept at it, hypothetically, artificial intelligence as advanced the likes of what we see in movies, could perhaps happen.

Will it happen though? Who knows, the movies seem to be bent on that imaginative ideology. What if we become so advanced by the year 2060, that artificial intelligence becomes so real like the movie "i robot" ???

Everything being said, I still don't feel we are going to be experiencing anything like that and no I don't feel artificial intelligence will take over the world. What do you believe?
