Disclaimer:

the resources of this text will primarily be my personal experiences of the topic, because I do not assume that any studies will prove it whether right or wrong, only criticism will do for the reason that this topic could only be debated by personal intelligence and not statics.

Art and intelligence are linked in a very extraordinary way, you might ask why? In order to comprehensively explain this proposition, we have to start from the beginning, from childhood.

Children and Art

As children, our brains are completely formatted machines which need to be fed with information, not only through education but everything that surrounds us, everything is observed as plain information, this observation process is the heart of intelligence, it is what makes children learn relatively quickly and easily; it is as vital for children as it is for adults, but unlike children, adults are more often distracted with their daily routines.

Learning a skill for children is easy, whereas learning multiple skills makes them more knowledgeable, more rational, it therefore erases expectations and overwhelming emotions from their dictionary, additionally, they become more experienced with learning skills, and broadening their vision in life.

Where art comes in this subject is that art endures the skills of observation and concentration in children from the beginning, to an extent where they learn the skills of fast learning as well, from imagination to application, without any overwhelming expectations of the outcome

The Intelligence Behind Art

Art is present in every single thing, physical or spiritual, imaginary or existing, seen or unseen; it is just like intelligence, non-existent, but proves its existence everywhere around us, we just need to find it for ourselves, and acknowledge it, because it can’t be Zero (stupid is not the zero of intelligence, it’s just a low level, and so as for art).

Moreover, art is the skill or the presence of creativity, everything contains creativity within itself, take a look at mountains, seas, dust in the air, or even the single molecules in their creation, all carry wonders in the way they were created, all have that thing in common, Art.

Other examples where art is present are contradiction, manipulation, confusion and mystery; no matter how disliked or disapproved they are, they would still remain as a form of art.

As for human, the mastery of art begins as a newly learnt skill (drawing, painting, singing, writing … and etc), Then it develops into professionalism in that particular skill, as a well-known skill, And then to an even higher level where you learn to observe art around you in the environment, not only in the skill itself, but you’ll be able to visualise the art in the surroundings of you.

After so, you’ll reach high enough to start realising the way you think, how others think, and virtually how a human being thinks, I call this the art of thinking.

Ultimately, you’ll reach a level where you can manipulate your own mind to endorse learning, knowledge and information. That is the mastery of minds as I believe, and the state of wisdom is then reached.

The level where most people are stuck in, is knowing themselves, acknowledging how they think, you might ask how come? and it might sound illogical as well, but it’s not about only knowing what your good at and what you’re not, nor it is about your personality.

I would summaries it as reviewing your subconscious actions, asking why you have done this particular action and not another? By time and experience, you’ll eventually understand the functioning of your brain and how emotions and intellect work.

In conclusion, art creates intelligence and vice versa, take a look at Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Einstein, and many other figures whom are not solely known for their art, but for their intelligence as well. Art and intelligence are paralleled in a fascinating way that creates wonders to the human brain, and intellect as a whole.

Thank you
