Aiways: AI-Tech OS software improvements for e-cars from the IT hub in Munich
In Munich, the electric car manufacturer Aiways and its team of specialists are adapting the global AI-Tech OS of its electric cars for the European market. Now Aiways announces an expansion of the European Tech Center. In the future, not only will the software be improved in Munich, but also the system integration of the hardware.

Aiways is accelerating its development pace for the software development of its AI-Tech OS for its electric cars. In addition to the development center in Shanghai, the Tech Center at Aiways' European headquarters in Munich is now being further expanded. With the expansion of the team at the IT hub Airways Munich, software improvements for the European market are now being made directly on site. Aiways expects shorter coordination paths and more direct communication with sales and service partners and thus an improved rollout of new AI-Tech OS versions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Aiways uses a global development network for software development, which also ensures cross-functional cooperation with hardware specialists for efficiency and synergy advantages at e-car manufacturers: The high level of flexibility enables the employees of the Aiways Tech Center in Munich that during improvements can be made in all areas of the vehicle throughout the entire product life cycle of an Aiways car.
Hardware, software, system integration and quality assurance
Unlike the previous conventional combustion engines, the development of electric cars can no longer be fixed in the previously known fixed framework. With the strengthening of the IT hub in Munich, Aiways ensures that the electric cars of the electric car manufacturer from Shanghai experience constant improvement and ongoing development. From the battery management and the control of the electric motor to the driver assistance systems and the infotainment, all Aiways functions are continuously updated.

Software update announced for existing fleet
The Aiways Munich team is currently working on a new version of the AI-Tech OS for the Aiways U5 electric SUV. The new Auto-OS version will contain more than 100 bug fixes as minor error corrections and, in addition to better memory utilization of the display control units, not only ensure more stable operation and the elimination of restart problems, but also improve reception of the DAB+ digital radio , optimize the load management of the 12-volt on-board battery and include an improved language version of all OS languages.
Strengthening the IT hub in Munich also considers the fact that in the age of electromobility, the development of an automobile can no longer be constrained within the previously familiar fixed frameworks. Unlike traditional development, the current approach emphasizes continual enhancement and uninterrupted progress. From battery management and electric motor control to driver assistance systems and infotainment, each function is constantly being updated.
“Integrating these functions into the multitude of control units in a modern architecture like our MAS platform is a complex task,” explains Zeeshan Shaikh, Head of Aiways Technical Center Munich. “Hundreds of functions are often changed per update, which then have to be adapted and checked individually for the various country versions. With our enlarged team in Munich, we are now improving the security of this process.”
