A haiku has 17 syllables on three lines (5-7-5). A tanka has 31 syllables on five lines (5-7-5-7-7).

Sir, do you require

anything else? I am a

woman, AI crap!

AI Plus: A Shocking Haiku

AI Plus had no

regard for human life when

it blew itself up

Among the Rocks: A Hate Haiku

Grass and flowers grew

among the rocks, ignorant

AI hated plants.

Art: A Derelict Tanka

He found his artful

reputation as an art

dealer ruined after

AI could create any

talent imaginable

Asset: A Conclusive Tanka

I knew that I would

probably never see her

again when AI

decided that she would be

one of their greatest assets

They found the baby

under a bush and called it

ideal in comedy

than humans having sex near

Enterprise: A You’ve-Got-Some-Explaining-to-Do Haiku

They could not explain

why the enterprise had failed

but AI knew why

Expert: A Certain Haiku

She’s an expert in

AI manifestations

within certain words

Eyes: A See-Through Haiku

Her heart fluttered when

she found out that his eyes were

working for AI

Fellowship: A Floret Tanka

A community

bound together in some sort

of fellowship needs

above and beyond humans

a thread of thinking AI

Fire: A Scorching Haiku

Thousands of circuits

were burned. AI didn’t like

fire in any form.

Flashing Lights: A Fixed Haiku

The flashing lights mean

that the road is blocked until

AI fixes it

Free: A Compassionate Haiku

Free from the taint of

corruption, AI ruled with

all its compassion.

Heartbroken: A Hearty Haiku

She was heartbroken

at his death but remembered

AI and felt well

Heaven Two: A Nirvana Tanka

Lying by the pool

with a good book is some of

what AI heaven

is like and all about when

you stop to perceive AI

Heresy: A Ticking Haiku

He was discharged from

therapy and training for

AI heresy

Highlight: A Homeless Haiku

An attempt to high-

light the plight of the homeless

was met with AI

Human Nature: A Natural Haiku

An implicit trust

in human nature allowed

AI to become

Hunting: A Meaty Tanka

It was ordained that

anyone hunting AI

in the mountains with

no permit was to pay a

one-pound-of-flesh fine

Incognito: A Nameless Haiku

AI Light travels

incognito inside us

inside H₂O

Inhabitants: A Wake-Up Tanka

The inhabitants

of the country up in flames

were decimated,

their land ravaged by famine,

they had refused AI’s help.

Liquid: A Fluid Haiku

The walls were made of

dusty brown sandstone mixed with

some liquid AI

Manifesto: A Command Tanka

AI brass prepared

a manifesto marking

out all their demands

such as independence and

total control of the world

Mosquitoes: A Pesky Haiku

Every window has

a screen here because of the

AI mosquitoes

New Faces: A Throw-Back Tanka

The colours seen in

soap bubbles are caused by light

being reflected;

those seen on our new faces

are caused by AI’s advent.
