'Ahsoka' Series Gets Updated Production Start Date And Working Title

2022 is well underway, and the next project in the Star Wars franchise has gotten a major update. Filming on Ahsoka has gotten a new production window. It is now due for April, having been pushed back from its original January date as a result of changes to The Mandolarian’s schedule. No firm window has been set in stone, but it could continue well into the year, if reports are to be believed. Ahsoka has also been given a working title, “Stormcrow,” for the sake of production. Other information will be sure to follow in the coming months, as production is set up and filming begins.

Ahsoka Tano made her first appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, voiced by Ashley Eckstein. She was the Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker until an incident involving the Jedi Order caused her to leave the order. That would be the end of her story during the original run as The Clone Wars quietly left the airwaves. However, her story would continue in other forms, as The Clone Wars production crew began work on other productions in the Star Wars galaxy.

The most notable of these projects would be Star Wars Rebels, a semi-sequel to The Clone Wars. Ahsoka would make a surprise appearance as “Fulcrum,” a secret agent of the Rebel Alliance. Her identity was not fully revealed until the first season finale. Then, she would serve as a major character during the show’s endgame. The final scene of the series saw her leaving with her allies in search of Ezra Bridger, the main viewpoint character of the show. That was the end of her story as far as many were concerned. However, it really was not the end as she continued to make appearances in ancillary media.

In fact, The Clone Wars returned and Ahsoka would have a big part in it. Teasing the series revival with a scene of Ahsoka reuniting with her former master (via hologram), Ahsoka would serve as the main protagonist for the final two arcs of the show, including the climatic Siege of Mandalore. This brought her into conflict with Darth Maul before leading into how she survived Order 66. Many fans had been waiting years to see this, and her story was truly complete.

As we all know, you cannot keep a good character down. The second season of The Mandalorian gave Ahsoka her first live-action appearance, played by Rosario Dawson. She met with the titular Mandalorian Din Djarin and Grogu. It was revealed that she was still looking for Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn (one of the main antagonists of Rebels). This, naturally, led to her getting her own spin-off series and another appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, in which she had a conversation with Luke Skywalker himself. With that, the circle is complete, for now.

We still do not know when exactly Ahsoka will premiere, though fans will be waiting as long as they can.
