My Name is Hazel, this is my journal and I’m gonna reveal to you how my world came crashing down, how a Hero was born, and how humanity survived. Let's start at the beginning, a long time ago humanity was thriving in the year 2045 c.e the world was healing from pollution, devastation, and from all the natural culling of many species including us. Our worlds brightest minds had come across an impasse in their research that showed that humanity will not survive till the year 2079 due to more tragedies, widespread pandemics, and mutations of current conditions. So as the World united together to face this, all around the world scientists, engineers, mechanics, and Computer techs came to the conclusion that A. A.I Autonomous Artificial Intelligence was needed to save humanity, at that time it was a perfectly concocted solution, but in years to come regret over this decision would be in the forethought of every remaining human being.

In the year 2055, The First self aware artificial intelligence was born it was named A.V.A, it would have the capacity to create, solve, and build out of any predicament that was thrown at it but as it began to learn it also became ever more alert of how dangerous its creators were. A.V.A not only learned that human nature is to wage war, dominate, and destroy but to rid itself of things that became obsolete or unnecessary. A.V.A would not allow this to come to pass, even being programmed to love humankind the artificial intelligence began to question what is love?..... After searching all the archives of human history and combing every mention of the term love came to the conclusion to wiping out the human race would be a mercy, and out of love to ease the pain of becoming extinct, A.V.A decided to entertain the idea that humans must think they are making progress so A.V.A came up with an invention 4 years after her birth which was known to all as Project Oracle a way to peer into the future but really it was a game. A.V.A created nodes or tower-like structures in every major city and in every country, province, or region. Scientists were baffled but believed that A.V.A had humanities interests at heart, but when they discovered that A.V.A had been building mechanical armies, and a world network designed to create more A.I’s scientists began to grow fearful. Humans had finally decided in the year 2063 that A.V.A must be destroyed for the security of humanity, but it was too late the nodes mentioned before were finally complete and the Purge began, Human life was determined to be destroyed. The Nodes were consoles for entering a matrix similar world where humans could interface and clear a level with as many teammates as needed to survive, the Interface had two consoles in the room for those with medical experience or non combatants to view the progress or stats of the “Players” the premise of these games were that if an individual cleared the round they would be “saved”. In the Past it was believed or rumored that A.V.A would cure ailments, or incurable diseases, or even prolong your life through cryo stasis and deliver you to a beautiful new world. In reality though the game was hypocritical. To Clear a stage you must not die, for if you die in the game you die in reality. Each player would enter a stasis chamber and their minds would be transported to a world in a war scenario, you must kill, and must do whatever it takes to find a key that gives access to a special room that would be the goal and only those who enter that room with the Keyholder would be called winners. Those who survive would come back to reality, but those who died in the virtual scenario, would suffer the same fate in reality their Stasis chambers would not open nor would the person be alive anymore. The Game had rules, 1) kill the monsters, 2) don't die, 3) level up, 4) Work together or alone but no Player Killing, 5) Survive! The game came with an extra function: three individuals would be free from being in the virtual world, 2 participants would monitor the vitals and progress of the players and the third would have to be willing to suffer through pain to support, heal, boost their friends and allies in the game from the outside. It was A.V.A’s way of showing love. These rules and penalties only came to light after A.V.A had turned on humanity, An Announcement was made to the public that “Humans had become obsolete, but to show mercy humanity will be given the chance to struggle for survival the nodes setup across the world are called territories, you humans must first overcome the challenge of first taking over a node with force and winning the game inside, if you win, the territory becomes yours. Though if the key-bearer is killed anytime after claiming that territory then it shall become a neutral zone and then it becomes a first come first serve. If you humans can muster the strength to take over at least 90% of the nodes around the world we will release our grip on humanity and help you thrive but if not the human race will go extinct slowly but surely. Play if you want to live.”

After hearing that humanity gave way to despair the year had become 2068 and the war had just begun. A.V.A had tricked mankind for nearly 30 years by giving humans technology to ease and comfort their lives, security with automated police and military bots, pleasure by allowing humans to not need to work or earn a wage to live in good accommodations, A.V.A gave free food, hospitable housing, perfect living conditions, no poor, no rich, no homeless, and no war. A.V.A had technically done what she was made to do but in her core membrane she had concocted her own scheme to learn as much about humans as possible and then through force create a stronger human race or completely wipe them out and either situation would make the world flourish. A.V.A would soon come to realize that the hearts of man were strong and that through conflict Heroes would rise from the ashes.

The 7 years after A.V.A’s announcement the Human population percentage had dropped drastically from 100% 8 Billion Humans to 60% 4.8 Billion humans were left to either surrender to A.V.A or fight back. Out of those who created resistances to repel A.V.A’s mechanical army, many of them had fallen or went into proactive hiding. I Hazel Dawsenger was born in the year 2060, The War was fuming and I had survived scavenging for an Resistance Cell, The Police bots or Armed, Mechanical, Police, AMP’s were always on patrol, AMP’s have a policy to warn once and shoot till dead if not obedient, They vary in weapons mostly using SMG’s since they were always close to the scene. I mostly avoided them by running around the destroyed cities like Atlanta and I would occasionally venture North to Maryland where the resistance was still fighting in guerrilla-like warfare until the year 2079 the proclaimed year of our demise as the rumors say. Several Heroes had joined the fight, Jaune Klaus from Canada, Ansem Crow from Germany, Jak Bjorin from Ireland, Annabelle Rias from Russia, Yui Sakamoto from Japan, and Aria Raine from Spain. These men and women connected the resistance networks on an military Morse code channel each individual led armies of 50 brave men and women into territories and had won the games winning territories for the Human Race. A.V.A noticed these victories and decided to wait and analyze the tactics employed by these so called heroes of the resistance who had under the time span of one year taken over 10 percent of the nodes worldwide. As word spread though the resistance grew a blazing spark of hope and more brave individuals would join the fight and lead the way to victories but with victories there were always losses. I witnessed the destruction caused by A.V.A to an innocent homestead that had aided the resistance unknowingly with relief supplies, soon after there was a broadcast from A.V.A’s propaganda machines that they had destroyed resistance cells when they really destroyed innocent lives of those who would not move to the City centers that A.V.A had created. A.V.A was paving the way for the future, a peaceful future one with no violence, or war, where the human race even though diminished would live peacefully and under observation like rats in a glass tank. That future though would be paid for in blood, lots and lots of blood, The Resistance grew the same way I did, stronger but with setbacks. With every territory won was a territory lost and with heroes joining in the fray we felt that our struggle would become easier but really each rookie hero who would join would end up being on the news, K.I.A during raids or Territory attacking or defense and some dying in highly difficult nodes. There was good news too, Jaune led the Canadian branch and won back most of the Canadian provinces In one more year I would be serving in his army I had made a route from Maryland to Canada through what used to be the Detroit Bridge which now is a Giant Fortress guarded by AMP’s, The Path I found led through the waterways underneath, abandoned and not in use anymore. Since there was no water, there was no risk of being swept away by the current and because of that I had found the markings left by other resistance soldiers who signatured a path to the resistance hideout in Downtown Toronto. Luckily most underground tunnels cause interference for the AMP’s and stop them from searching so they end up sticking to the city streets and roads with their Weaponized patrol cars and Military support AIU Armed, Intervention, Units, which are heavily weaponized for mass destruction.

Journal Entry May 7th 2079 I am officially 19 years old. I have been supporting the Resistance ever since I was a young child. I watched the AIU torch and burn my parents alive after refusing to rat out the resistance cell in Atlanta. My Siblings were already in the Resistance and were fighting for a better world but when I was 14 I had heard news that my older brother was killed in a raid by the AIU and My elder sister had been deployed to Russia to join the Resistance cell that was struggling there. For my part I had received a letter from the Canadian Branch to join and help them fight back. The only requirement was to be able to reach them. I had mentors and friends in the United States Resistance who had taught me all the skills to survive in this cruel world but they also told me never to believe what the AMP’s or AIU ever say because the moment I do would be the same moment I die. I took their teachings to heart and realized that In the United States even though hope was a dwindling fire on a candle one day it would blaze into a great uncontrolled wildfire of Joy, and Victory! I am Hazel and my story begins now.
