5 Star Wars movies Disney need to make!

Star Wars stories that belong on the big screen.

Like many other people Star Wars has captured a large part of my life, from watching the prequels as a child my love and interest for Star Wars has never faded over 15 years later. This interest has only become stronger since the Disney purchase and the sequel trilogy.

Now with the sequel trilogy done and the Skywalker saga apparently finished I have 5 stories from the Skywalker saga that I want to see. These films would be in the one movie format of Rouge one and Solo. Personally I like both movies, however, I feel like there are far better stories out there to make to flesh out the star wars universe that little bit more. Let's begin the list of Star Wars movies I want Disney to make.

5. The Galactic Empire Year 1

A time period in Star Wars that is rarely shown is the beginning of the Galactic Empire set up by Emperor Palpatine. We are now starting to uncover some details about this period thanks to the Disney+ show The Bad Batch. I feel like a movie set in this time period would, similarly to Rogue One and Solo, help bridge the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

The movie would focus on The Emperor, Vader and his clone forces setting out to the many planets of the Republic. Showing them setting up the imperial checkpoints, colonizing worlds, and the inner battles between the loyal clone troopers and the new human recruits, just like we see in The Bad Batch. We would be able to see the first days of the Empire and how the civilians of these worlds reacted to the stricter laws and lack of freedom that this new regime was forcing on innocent people. The movie could show the anger from the many worlds leading to the start of the rebellion that we would see our future heroes joining.

4. Luke's Jedi Academy

When I think about the sequel trilogy, there is not a lot of spin-offs that I would like to see. However, the time before the movies during the days of Luke's Jedi academy needs to be shown. The character of Luke Skywalker deserves some redemption like we witnessed in the Mandalorian season 2. We have some information about this time thanks to comics and books. A movie would flesh this time out perfectly and bridge between the beloved originals and the not so beloved sequels.

The movie would be set just months before the fall of Ben Solo. It would show Luke Skywalker at the height of his Jedi powers. Complete mastery of the force, passing his knowledge down to the younglings in his academy. It would also show star pupil Ben Solo helping train the students. The movie could show some flashbacks of adventures Luke had after Return of the Jedi with a de-aged Mark Hammill. The story would also show Ben Solo being seduced to the dark side by Snoke just as we have seen in the comics.

3. Maul

A fan favourite of the Star Wars franchise is Darth Maul. As we know his character has developed wildly since his "death" in The Phantom Menace. Becoming a spider monster and saved by his brother, to the ruler of Mandalore in The Clone Wars TV show, to the leader of a crime syndicate at the end of Solo. This time however, I want to see a prequel to his story before The Phantom Menace. During the years that he was being trained and tortured by Palpatine.

This movie would be solely focused on Maul during his training. We could see at the start Palpatine arriving on Dathomir and taking him as a child. Then being trained in the ways of the Sith, being tortured by Palpatine to embrace his hate and his anger. Training how to use a lightsaber and his double bladed version. We could even see Maul spying on the Jedi order for his master and going on many assassination missions throughout the years of his training.

2. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi

One of the Star Wars characters that needs more time on the big screen is Qui-Gon Jinn. The padawan of fallen Jedi Master Dooku and the teacher of Obi-Wan Kenobi, one of the most powerful Jedi ever. The movie should be set during Obi-Wan's training and could take inspiration from the book Master and Apprentice by Claudia Gray.

The movie could start with Qui-Gon teaching Obi-Wan some lessons about the force as a child. Then switching to the present day set when Obi-Wan is about 17 and still learning from his master. We could see some of the adventures that Qui-Gon and his padawan go on during their early years. We could see the conflict that arises from their different views on the force and Qui-Gon clashing with the jedi council. Seeing more of Qui-Gon can only be good for Star Wars.

1. Vader

Finally, the film that Disney have to make. A Vader film that could be R rated during his Jedi killing years. This movie would be so far away from the Star Wars norm while still feeling like Star Wars. It could be styled like Logan with the R rating. This would also show us Darth Vader as we have never seen him before except from the hallway scene in Rogue One.

The movie could be fully focused on Darth Vader killing Jedi. We know that the Jedi went basically extinct and that Darth Vader was responsible for a lot of those Jedi deaths. This movie would show Vader still getting used to his suit, fully encompassed by his hate and anger, going full bad-ass mode slaughtering Jedi. We could see Vader taking on multiple Jedi at the same time. Also seeing his and palpatines relationship growing and changing as he now needs his master to keep him alive due to his injuries.
