2000 Years From Now — How Does Life Looks Like?

How will human beings look like? Are we robots?

Recently, I had a conversation with the family about the past and what it was like in our neighbourhood in the period of Romans 2000 years ago. This conversation came up because I found a flyer about a little history of the Limes, where my village is also a part of, and a brief history of that part. My village, Bunnik, The Netherlands, exists for more than 2000 years during the Roman years. They have lived in my village, or at least the place where my village lies.

In those years, the Romans have lived very prematurely. They didn’t have that much. Hunting to get food, living in houses we can't imagine these days, and they barely wore clothes, were the things they had and the things they did.

  • What if you were living 2000 years back?
  • What if you are 2000 years from now?
  • What if you were living 2000 years back?

When you’re living in a time when things are still prematurely, such as hunting for food, could you think about a time that goes fast, and you don’t have to search for food any more, as it will be in grocery stores?

I guess no one at that time could think about that.

Now we can’t live without a grocery store. We don’t hunt anymore. We do the laundry in a machine. We write letters through e-mail. We send messages through a phone.

2000 years ago, there we no machine through technology to send a message, to do the laundry, to make your coffee, you couldn’t ride a bike, there were no good foundations to live in a decent home we used to live in these days.

Imagine yourself living 2000 years back. What would you do when you were living 2000 years back? I think you wouldn’t think about that 2000 years ago. Maybe you might wonder what life might look like in the future if you existed 2000 ago.

What if you are living in the time 2000 years from now?

Imagine yourself 2000 years from now. What is the thing you want to keep there is now, and what do you want to change?

There are so many technologies at the moment, that we don’t know if a human being will still exist 2000 years from now. And if we will survive the way we know now, how does life looks like?

Will we be robots 2000 years from now? Or are we still human beings sitting behind a computer and don’t interact with one another?

Who knows, but can you imagine it?

I can’t imagine it — yet. Maybe when I am ten years older, that I can imagine that thought. But today, I can’t imagine that.

Anyway, imagine yourself 2000 years from now and imagine how they will live in that time, with what, are we still humans, or is there any transition in human beings, humanity, and the way we treat?!

  • Can you imagine how they react when they see a mobile phone?
  • Can you imagine how technology will affect us within the next 2000 years?
  • How will life look like 2000 years from now?
  • Will human beings be robots like 2000 years from now?

Can you imagine how they react when they see a mobile phone?

These days we are all on our screens, whether it is a laptop, tablet or your phone. Everyone has one these days. Behind these devices, there is a bunch of technology to make these devices. Twenty years ago, the computers were still big and gigantic, like a closet, now they are flat and thin. Everything is small and tiny, but still with a huge amount of power from the devices and the development of the technology is going fast.

2000 years ago, there was no such as technology. Those people didn’t know what that even was. Can you imagine how they would react when they lived in today, and they see a device but still used to the life they had 2000 years ago? I am a visionary person, but this is not what I can imagine how they will react.

Can you imagine how technology will affect us within the next 2000 years?

Technology is in our lives a lot. Every day technology improves a lot and will be used more by each individual. Now we can still control our habits in when, where, what, who, and how we control our screen-time, technology time, and all that. What if there comes a time that technology takes over our lives for good, that there isn’t any humanity any more, and humans are behind the screens all day long, and that there will be robots that exist as human beings? Is that what we want to be 2000 from now?

I can say that I don’t want my ancestors to be robots and don’t know who I am and what I have done to leave a legacy. That all history falls into dust, and it is all thrown away. It makes me a little bit scared to think about that, and yet, we have to think about that. Now we can do something about it if we want to exist the way we are right now, or at least as human beings.

How will life look like 2000 years from now?

I am seriously curious how lives will look like 2000 from now, and what people are doing, and if they’re like looks like the same as ours now looks like. I highly believe that technology plays a big part in the development of how people using technology for the next 2000 years in their lives. There are already robots made, but how far are they going to make robots that will take over human lives?

Will human beings be robots 2000 years from now?

I also highly believe that robots will be the next ‘human beings’ that eventually will take over the world. But when? When is not really relevant for me. I highly believe that robots will be a big part of our lives in the next 2000 years and that we — human beings — need to deal with that. If I will ever see all this development happen, I don’t know, but I will definitely hate that robot thing.

I hardly can imagine that a human being will do have sex with a robot so that the robots will take over the world entirely.
