I’d like to raise a glass to our retiring boss.
Working for you taught me skills I never expected to acquire when I accepted this job: picking up dry cleaning, making dinner reservations, returning packages, buying last-minute gifts, and locating very specific items in distant stores.
You taught me that “a quick favor” can take three hours, and “on your way” can mean anywhere within forty miles.
Now, retirement will finally give you time to handle all those little tasks yourself.
It may be overwhelming at first.
But don’t worry.
You trained me well.
