Your Weight

The weight of weighing yourself

By Marianne LeePublished 21 days ago • 1 min read

You are busy walking around your room in circles.

You have been curious for many nights and curiosity is a thought with a door that cannot be shut once it’s been open.

Your brain suddenly seemed to zap from all of the thinking and you give in to the urge.

You locate the weighing scale with your eyes.

A grey square that looks cold.

You walk closer and stop in front of it.

You feel the pang of emotions as you close your eyes tightly and step on the scale.

You can’t seem to open your eyes; you feel feverish from all this discomfort.

Your mind is now screaming for you to come back down.

Your heart races faster than the fleeting speed of time.

You feel like you’re almost disturbing your downstairs neighbour with your beating heart.

Your head starts shaking from side to side and you start screaming “no no no”

It feels wrong to open your eyes.
