The leaves were moving, the footsteps of the 13 witches moving faster and faster on the crunching leaves became thunderous as the witches chanted to the man in the middle of the circle, ”you shall rise, you shall rise.”

The man looked around him scared watching the witches chant around him. He could feel the beads of sweat dripping from his face, he felt his body move without him wanting it to. He realized he was no longer in control of his own body. He was horizontal from the ground rising, rising higher and higher.

He could hear himself ask the witches to stop. No longer able to move his eyes got wider and wider as he was now level to the top of the trees. The witches now yelling the chant over and over. The wind swirled around them. Their hoods blowing in the wind. One of the witches hoods fell down around its witches shoulders only to see her eyes white, her skin white, chanting. Her lips black and her veins dark as the sky around her.

The man wondered if he was some sort of a sacrifice to their Gods. Would he soon bleed, would he fall to his death?

As he got higher and higher he became colder and colder. He could feel his heart beating. Thump thump, thump thump. He counted beats of his heart to try to stay as calm as he could.

Three days ago Terrance was walking in the forest after a long day at work looking for her.

He just started dating the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. She had dark red hair, dark black eyes, long beautiful legs with a body to kill for. Terraance met Sheen at the bar watching football with the guys. She was serving them drinks but something came over him when he saw her. Was it love at first sight? He never felt this way about anyone before. Especially about someone he just met!

The guys at his table saw the connection right away, her eyes only focused on him even when taking orders. She didn’t skip a beat and attended to the group all night.

One by one the guys started to leave after the game but not Terrance, he wanted, needed to know more about her and at the very least get her number.

She brushed by him several times when he was seated at the bar by himself. Each time he would shutter and felt more drawn to her. After shift she placed her long fingers on his shoulder showing her bright red nail polish the same colour as her lipstick. He looked at her and was caught in her trance. He smiled but couldn’t talk. She laughed, broke her stare at him, then he was able to talk and ask her questions. He asked her several questions and asked why he never saw her before. She said she just moved to town after a few of her girlfriends moved to town for school.

He didn’t think to much of it and visited the bar more often after work to see her and talk with her. Each time he felt more and more connected to her. After each time he ached for her and wanted more.

After her shift one night they went to a party to meet her friends. They were all beautiful with black eyes and beautiful bodies. He noticed how much attention they all had when they were dancing on the dance floor. The guys watched them, leaving their girlfriends to watch them. He too couldn’t take his eyes off of them.

That night, after dancing and drinking he finally got his kiss from Sheen. It was only a kiss but felt intoxicated, dizzy. He watched her walk around him. She would lift a finger and could feel his finger twitch. He needed to sit down, but there was no chair. So he flopped down in the floor. She walked around him again this time waving her hand giggling. This time his arm twitched.

Giggling Sheen looked at her friend Cross to watch her play with her boyfriend. Every pass she would move her finger, hand, arm and each time his body reacted. They both cackled while playing with his body like some rag doll. He whispered for them to stop.

They laughed more. He was getting dizzier by the minute. Sheen looked at him and told him that he was just like the others, only wanting her because of her looks. She became mad and yelled at him. Her bright red lipstick turned black and the veins on her face became black. Her eyes turned red, looking at him. All I want from you is your seed. Witches can’t become pregnant but can find a seragut to their liking and make the two people become one. Then snatch their baby without their knowledge. Humans are oblivious to witches trances. Which is why it’s so fun to play.

She disappeared with her friend, and he crumbled to the floor. He had tears in his eyes and realized that he was just a pawn. He wanted to move, he wanted to call the police and tell them what? That a good looking girl was mean to him? Absolutely know one would believe him. All he could do was try to find her and kill her. His heart ached thinking that. How could he let her and others use people just to have babies. Then he fell asleep.

When he awoke he felt like he had a horrible hang over and found it difficult to breath, to move, to think. The thoughts finally started to come to him as he was able to walk.

Terrance thought to himself that he couldn’t kill her. It was the booze talking. Was it true what she said? Or did she even say it? He was torturing himself to try to remember. The next few dates were normal with dining, watching movies and she never mentioned her friend again. He slowly forgot what she said but felt more drawn to her and loved her.

One night he went to the bar with his buddies but Terrance watched her interacting with other patrons. Sheen had a guy in her sights and felt the connection between the two of them. He couldn’t believe what he was watching. He told his friends to watch her. He had to leave as he was heartbroken.

Terrance’s friends watched her lure in another guy and watched her walk into the woods behind the bar. They tried to track them but no footprints to be found. They turned around and went back to the bar. Terrance’s friends called Terrance to alert him to what she was doing. That night he was determined to find her after work to ask her more questions.

———-

Terrance stopped dead in his tracks when he saw witches surrounding a young man. They made their circle wider and wider. Terrance hid behind a tree to watch. He watched 13 witches chant, in a circle and rise the guy into the sky. He saw his sweat, his tears as they raised him higher. Then he saw the girl tied to the trees. She was looking at the witches with wide eyes. She was screaming when she saw the young man high above the trees. She was trying to break free. The witches payed no attention to her. They moved quickly and chanted louder and louder. The wind swirling around them, the leaves rotating, the sky darkening. It was hard to see with so much dirt and debris swirling around!

Terrance ran to the girl to try to untie her. He knew what they were going to do to her. They were getting ready to watch them mate in the sky’s like they were animals.

The girl still screaming. The winds got stronger, and the sky getting darker, the witches getting louder! The girl was crying. One of the witches turned their head in there direction. He new he had to hurry before they were caught in their trance.

Finally he was able to untie the girl, he yelled at her to Run, and don’t look back!

He looked at the witches one last time, and the poor guy above the trees. He wanted to run into the circle to try to stop the chant, the spell. But he couldn’t, he couldn’t chance what they might do to him. He had to think. What to do.

All of a sudden he ran as fast as he could towards one of the witches and knocked her over. The winds stopped, the man dropped from the sky to his death. The witches screamed at him one by one. He was holding his ears with terror. His ears were aching. He managed to pull one of his hands off of his ear and saw blood. He tried to move, to get away but couldn’t move.

The last witch stopped in front of him, lowered her hood. Immediately Terrance saw his girlfriend. He pleaded with her to let him go. He promised that he wouldn’t say anything. She stood there staring at him like she was looking at his soul.

In the distance he could here people calling his name. He broke his stare with her and tried to call out. He couldn’t move, he couldn’t hear any more but saw flashlights heading in his direction. He turned his head were his girlfriend was and she was gone. They were all gone. He flopped to his side in a fetal position and closed his eyes. He new he was safe.

A month later Terrance was released from the hospital after his traumatic experience learning how to cope with his hearing loss, and learning sign language. He heard that the FBI were trying to track the witches after several deaths were reported. He was the only survivor to give detail about the witches and to give detail on what they looked like. He knew they would never find them. After all they were witches, not story book witches but evil women who would do anything to have children.
