Love Potion’s Antidote

When the man had noticed Kolawole was well relaxed in his living room as he was enjoying his cold Maltina drink, the man said calmly; “My name is Sunday Ajayi, my wife told me that you are the husband of the female teacher and the father of her two children; but I did not know you are such a young and handsome man until I met you today.”

Kolawole felt flattered and managed to say; “Thank you sir, you are very kind.” The man also noticed that Kolawole was a humble man, and he said; “Young man, before I discuss further with you, are you born again?” Kolawole did know the meaning of that word. “I don’t understand sir.”

The man smiled and said; “Just call me brother Sunday; the meaning of been born again is when you genuinely accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior; brother Kolawole, do you believe Christ died on the Cross to pay for your sin; and He resurrected on the third day, and He is alive at the right side of God on His throne in heaven?” “Yes sir, The Lord is my Savior.” Kolawole was then led through the Scriptures and he later confessed Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Kolawole felt so peaceful in his spirit after his confession; so much that he was just smiling like a child with ice cream in his hand.

Mrs. Ajayi, the wife of the man who led Kolawole to Christ sudden said; “My young man, please don’t be offended, by now you should have discovered that your wife is no longer in love with you; she is now dating one short man who came to sleep in her room three times in a week; and he usually left the room very early in the morning to avoid been seen by your son.”

Mrs. Ajayi looked mournfully at Kolawole and continued speaking; “I am sure she must have charmed you before you married the wayward woman.” Kolawole thanked the couple and left their one room and a parlor apartment to see Mojisayo, he met her writing her teacher’s school notes, and he challenged her; “Mojisayo, how wicked and heartless can you be? You used love potion to get me; and you then dumped me for another man when it suited you!”

Mojisayo closed her note book, and said; “I can see you are now awake, yes, I admit what you said; I separated you from Odion Iselu, and used love potion on you in order to stop you from loving another woman; I charmed you when I needed a husband, but I have stopped the love potion for the past two months because you are no longer useful to me.”

Immediately Mojisayo confessed what she did to him, Kolawole realized he was no longer in love with her, she actually smelled like unclean toilet to him because her excreta was one of her body materials that was used to prepare the love potion she had sprinkled on his vegetable soup which made him to fall in love with her.

Kolawole covered his nose with his hand and ran out of the room, away from the repulsive woman he had once loved; and he drove back to Lagos feeling sorry for no one but himself for been so foolish to get involved with such a dangerous woman.

That Saturday evening, Kolawole reflected on what had befell him; and he wept bitterly for the first time in his adult life; he knew he was responsible for most of what had happened to him because of his lust for the flesh of a woman with attractive curves; if he had not gone after Mojisayo when he was already engaged to a virgin woman; Mojisayo would not have had the opportunity to give him her excreta to eat in form of a love potion!

He almost vomited when he remembered how Mojisayo usually prepared a special vegetable soup and smooth pounded yam for him which he ate every three months in order to renew the love potion in his body system which bewitched him to love her alone. On Sunday morning, Kolawole attended a Church service in his area, and he indicated his interest to become a regular member of that Church and the pastor of that Church welcomed him with prayer into the body of Christ.

Few weeks later, Kolawole noticed that his life had changed since the day he accepted Christ; each week, he was making more money in his soap making business. He then decided to go to the National Bank of Nigeria to open a current business account; that day, the lady who handled his new bank account was very helpful; her name was Temitope Alarape.

Temitope was twenty-six years old Accountant, she was tall, dark, and beautiful; she had charming dimples on both sides of her cheeks when she smiled. After Temitope approved Kolawole’s new business account, she asked; “Mr. Kolawole Adegbola, are you going to limit your potentials just to make and sell laundry Bar-soaps?” Kolawole shrugged his shoulders and said; “I am a graduate Buyer by profession, I could add the supply of cement and other building materials to my soap making, but I don’t have the necessary financial capitals to go into such lucrative business at the moment.”

Temitope looked at Kolawole speculatively, by instinct, she knew the man seated in front of her was a honest man, she decided to take a risk with him when she noticed there was no wedding ring on his finger, and she asked; “Do you have a place to store your cement bags and sell them if you have the money?”

Kolawole’s face brightened, and he gushed; “Ah! No, but I don’t have to store the cement bags if I have the money; all I need to do is to go to Blue Elephant Cement company and pay for a trailer load of six hundred bags of cement, and sell the allocation to Building construction company and any interested cement retailer at a reasonable profit.”

Temitope laughed, she was right; Kolawole’s innocent face looked boyish as he happily explained how he would use the money and make profit. “Alright Mr. Kolawole Adegbola, run your business account regularly for three months, after that, you can apply for a short-term business loan.” Kolawole thanked the kindhearted Banker, and he left the Bank premises singing;”Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fears are gone, because I know oh oh, He holds my future; and life is worth a living just because He lives.”
