“Staring across the waters again?" Marcus asked. It was as if his friend were in a trance.

"Look... look... you can just see them."

"See what?"

"Look... right there! The cliffs. like a maiden's smile... inviting... enticing."

"Ha ha... my friend, you spend too much time staring at that distant shore. You are as a man bewitched."

"Bewitched or not, I mean to visit her."

"I fear your advances will not be welcome."

"Welcome or not, I will take her. The plebs would love me for it."

"Gaius Julius, bed that maiden and the whole of Rome will love you."
