Woman of the Wastelands

Destroy All Evil Whenever it Finds You

If you humans knew the truth about reality, what you think of as the multiverse, it would be so poisonous as to destroy you, shattering your illusions of the worth of everything. But I, a celestial being, the writer of this universe, will let you have a metafictional peep through the 4th wall. Not because I care, but for my amusement.

In essence, all that you think exists, does not. It is a simulation: Salah Hamieh, “On the Simulation Hypothesis and Its Implications,” Journal of Modern Physics, vol. 12, no. 5, 2021; Neil deGrasse Tyson: “I wish I could summon a strong argument against it, but I can find none.” (2018; https://www.nbcnews.com/mach/amp/ncna913926). QED.

Thus, Willy the Shake almost had it right: but, all the world’s just 1’s and 0’s and all the people mere blips. Yes, a grand computer-generated cosmic video game scripted by THOSE WHO DWELL ABOVE ALL, Beings like me, infinite dimensional hyper-beings who might be called “Gods,” only we decide the fate of Gods as well with our scripts of existence. All done for our entertainment; is that dystopic enough?

The device of world making, beyond all computers as you would understand them as information processers, might be described as a heart-shaped locket in infinite dimensions, each one enclosing a multiverse, paraconsistent possibilities in a seething, frothing, cosmic sea of the imagination. Here is but one possibility, one script of the human future, the movie of one possible world, my film of the fate of your world, that I write as I see fit.

WOMAN OF THE WASTELANDS: DESTROY EVIL WHENEVER IT FINDS YOU!

Opening shots give a montage of disasters, cut from your news of 2020 and 2021 riots, droughts and climate change disasters. These scenes flash ever faster as images of the super power military build-up are shown, with the final opening scenes being a series of nuclear explosions, then a black screen. The camera then leads us into the world of the protagonist, GAIA, woman of the wastelands, who represents the last hope for human salvation. We first see her as a clocked figure, trundling through a fierce sand storm, clutching a spear, the spear of destiny, I suppose. We learn, as the film progresses, that she has been sent to Earth by GOD, who is really ME, in these end times, to combat the champion of evil that B.E.N. (B.E.N. being the PROGRAMER GOD who works next to me) has sent, the demon MEPHISTO, and to teach remnant humanity the meaning of salvation.

The third scene reveals the villain of the film, MEPHISTO. He is modelled on the JOKER, from your JOKER movie, and previous versions in BATMAN … manic, completely insane, and constantly violating the 4th wall film convention, talking directly to the viewers, as I do now, although you are all my creations. Just the sort of creature B.E.N. would submit. The third scene of the film introduces MEPHISTO and his band of demons (appearance like orcs from The Lord of the Rings), who attack a small settlement, killing all the men folk, who fight bravely nonetheless, and imprisoning the women as slaves for demon reproduction. For MEPHISTO this is but a grand game, and he dances on the entrails.

Exit the demons. GAIA comes out of the dust storm and comes upon the carnage of the village, learning from a dying old woman about the attack, which she immediately recognises as from her foe. She prays for the old woman as she dies in her arms, then prays for the dead, for all the good it does, because I just don’t listen to prayer, nobody here does. The rest of the film involves GAIA tracking the band down and taking the demons down, one by one, in spectacular martial arts scenes, blood and guts, raw gore, you name it, action baby! The scene is littered with body parts.

There is a final battle with MEPHISTO, which aims to replicate classic film battles as in the BRUCE LEE movies, only nastier. But when MEPHISTO looks like getting beaten, he disappears into the dust. What a coward! GAIA returns the women to the village, thinking that all is well and that the good gals have won the day, and resumes her tracking of MEPHISTO. In later movies, he will later engage a variety of avatars, demons and monsters to confront her in her journey though the ruins of the world, creatures such as zombies, werewolves, dragons, even killer robots, somewhat rusty by now; everything from Hollywood’s SUPERNATURAL kitchen sink. That’s a dystopic doomsday for you!

A shot to conclude, of the women who GAIA has rescued. In fine ALIEN style, demons erupt from the bodies of the women, beginning the cycle once more, as young demons run all around the place, like a mice plague.
