Whispers of the Heart
Exploring the Depths of Desire and the Pain of Separation

I have granted you, my beloved, my heart, and my poetry sings of all suspicions.
I have preferred you, my beloved, over myself, and I reside in the house of love, counting my sorrows.
I gathered the remnants of myself, and I became eager to see you with my eyes.
And my nights guide me as I swim in my sea, calling for dawn and the retreat of the stars,
And the sun rises in a rush, calling the creator, amidst the clouds,
And the earth blooms in its gardens, grazing in a timeless space without worries.
The Earth and the Sun
The earth was sailing in the sky, searching for warmth from the sun, just as I search for your love. The difference is that whenever I come close to you and touch you, I feel a warmth higher than what the earth would feel if it entered the heart of the sun. You are a star in the Pleiades, in brilliance and also in size, and in your great warmth. You are a black hole that has pulled my heart from its place and drawn it quietly into your love cage, just as a snake attracts its prey into its lair after squeezing them between its muscles, extending along its body covered in soft, multicolored skin, enticing to all who see it. You are my beloved...
I promised you, and I fulfilled my promise, while you broke yours. I wish I hadn’t promised you; I wish I hadn’t even seen you, and I wish you hadn’t broken your word. I write to you, my beloved, so that you might learn and stop abandoning me and cruelly tormenting my heart with your silence in response to my letters. Do you remember the day you kissed my lips on one of the letters you sent me while we were in school? We were together in the same class, and you used to sing my name as you came and went, declaring war on every girl who came close to me. I am entirely convinced that at that time, you loved me with all the meanings of sincere love—love free from any worry or fleeting emotions of the girls of those days that passed like the years of famine upon us. Joseph watered them with wisdom, so they grew and flourished, while we watered them with the water from the pure river of love.
My princess, I promised you that you wouldn’t die, nor would I, and you promised me the same, but you broke your promise. I promised that my love for you wouldn’t die. As my long days pass, I write to you, and the fire of love ignites in my heart again. I decided to alleviate your pain from the distance and share with you some of my words that I always compose for you and about you. So, my beloved, let the strings of pearls bind the most beautiful poems, and let the rubies arrange my feelings to express a love that has persisted long enough to reach the heavens... So do not die now; die only after I do, for I cannot bear your death. It is a thunderclap that, if it fell close to me, would create a thunder that could deafen my ears in sorrow for you.
I wiped my tears of despair with the handkerchief of hope and picked up my papers, searching in my mind for what to say to you, my beloved. How long I waited for you, for years that felt like an eternity! Would you not answer me? I write with my tears as ink for my letters to you; they are so hot that they almost burn my papers. Therefore, I rewrite again and again until my words please you. Do not burn my heart and papers.
Do you remember when we laughed together on the beach that the vacationers call the shore of love? But we were together in winter, just the two of us.
I mock the events of time that make me part from my loved ones with a tear on my cheek.
I am resentful of fate; if it weren't for it, I would not have existed in this world.
And if it weren't destined for me to part from my loved ones...
In winter, there are people waiting for each other, but during these days, no one waits for me; I am lost and alone, and the wounds of a pained heart do not allow me to look at anyone; even if I do, it is as if I am the happiest among people due to my lavish wealth and my new carriage. But despite all that I possess, I own only a sad heart. How can the sad one rejoice, even if its food is honey?
Where am I in this world if you are not with me? Do you remember when we used to quarrel, mimicking what happens between couples while playing a humorous film?
Do you remember when you said to me in our imaginary quarrel, when I told you: "I can't stand you..." and you replied, "Divorce me"?
I laughed at that word, but it left a wound in my heart that I wished to conceal from you.
