Whispers of Flame and Wing.

A Tale Of A Fairy And A Devil

By HooreyaPublished about a year ago 2 min read

In a land where dusk wore a silver crown,

Where stars wept light and dreams fell down,

A Devil roamed with a heart of coal,

No love, no light—just shadows whole.

His world was ash, his sky was red,

He ruled the dark, where angels fled.

With horns of black and molten breath,

He walked the path of fire and death.

Far above where rivers sing,

Lived a Fairy with crystal wing.

She danced through dawn in robes of mist,

The morning sun her gentle kiss.

She healed the land, she charmed the rain,

She whispered peace to rooted pain.

Her world was bloom and golden air,

Where nothing evil dared to dare.

They met one night by cursed design,

At the broken edge of fate's old line.

She crossed it once, a step too far—

He caught her beneath a falling star.

“Return,” he growled, “you don’t belong.”

She laughed, “I’ve never followed wrong.”

He raised his flame, she spread her wing—

Two ancient forces, shuddering.

Yet hate, when burned too close to soul,

May crack the heart and make it whole.

She saw the sorrow in his stare,

He felt her kindness in the air.

Their battles grew less sharp, less loud,

Their silences began to crowd.

He offered sparks that did not burn,

She left a light at every turn.

They met in shadows, far from kings,

Exchanging dreams and secret things.

He carved her stars from stone and smoke,

She hummed him truths that love evoked.

He showed her fire that danced like art,

She touched the ruins in his heart.

He let her see the child he’d lost,

She gave him grace, no matter cost.

But love, when born of wrong and right,

Must hide beneath the cloak of night.

For wings of light and horns of flame

Can never wear the same true name.

Her realm forbade such twisted ties,

“Choose him, and every blossom dies.”

His kin declared, with teeth of heat,

“No fae shall make your heartbeat beat.”

They met once more at twilight’s bend,

Not as lovers—but as the end.

“I’d burn the sky,” he said, “for you.”

“I’d fall,” she said, “if falling’s true.”

Yet stars don’t hold what fate unwinds,

And time forgets what hope reminds.

So one last kiss, a breath, a tear—

She vanished with the breaking year.

He turned to smoke, to rage, to stone,

And ruled again, but not alone.

For in his chest, a flicker stayed—

The light of one who wasn’t afraid.

They say at dusk, when silence hums,

And all the forest softly drums,

You’ll see a flicker, faint and fast—

A fairy wing, a devil’s past.

And those who love but must not show

Will find in them the ache they know.

For even doomed, their love still sings—

The tale of fire who kissed the wings.
