"When Fire Loved Water"
In secret glades where whispers float,
Where moonlight sails on silver moat,
There danced the flame with longing bright,
And shimmered water, cool as night.
She flowed in streams of calm and grace,
He blazed with wild and warm embrace.
Their glances met where edges kiss—
A fleeting touch, a stolen bliss.
He burned to hold her in his light,
To chase the chill, to make her bright.
But every time he dared too near,
She wept to steam, then disappeared.
She sang in ripples soft and low,
“Come not too close, or I must go.”
Still fire reached, defying fate,
But love, for them, could only wait.
For though he lit the darkest skies,
And she could soothe the fiercest cries,
Together, they would cease to be—
A love confined to reverie.
So side by side, yet worlds apart,
They carried longing in their heart.
A flame, a tide—forever yearned,
A love that touched, but never burned.
