Whatever Happened to the Man from Taured

A work of fiction

In 1954 a passport check in Japan is alleged to have produced a man with papers issued by the nation of Taured. Or so the story goes. Was this man real? Where was Taured? And what happened to him?

As the story goes when he was questioned about the alleged passport he denied it being fake and would point out on a map where Taured was located. His passport had been stamped from previous visits to Japan. Everything about the man checked out except for his country of origin.

I believe the man was real and so was his home country of Taured, but he came from an alternate dimension earth. The legend says he was take to a nearby hotel or embassy where they were going to hold him and find out more information but when they came back he was gone even though the room was on the top floor of the building and the door was guarded by two armed guards. This makes me believe that he was able to pass back through to his earth and carry on with his trip.

If there is a multiverse of realities and multiple earths, then it is very believable that history didn’t happen the same on every earth and that the countries would have different names from earth to earth. Making a country named Taured very realistic.

The part that doesn’t add up to me would be how was he able to get on the plane to Japan to begin with and how did he vanish. One theory is he was working for the CIA at the time and was able to get out as he was spying on Japan since world war 2 had just ended less than ten years prior but while that theory is somewhat believable, I’m more inclined to believe he was an interdemontional traveler. This make sense, since Japan wasn’t divided like Germany after the war you could think that the United States would want to keep an eye on them and send spies to do so, similar to spies being sent to Russia during the Cold War. The United States wouldn’t want an old enemy to rise up against them again. But I’m more inclined to believe the other theory.

Another theory would be he was a time traveler who was from a future country of Taured and had never been questioned about his passport in the past visits. Now this theory is harder to believe because if he was a time traveler why would there never be anymore evidence of him visiting again and it brings into question if we have had time travelers in the past and how and when the time machine will be created. Now I can get behind this theory just based off other pictures and videos trying to prove time travel, the only thing I question is why he hasn’t come back. Unless you can’t time travel anymore after being discovered and they felt him being detained was reason enough to prevent him from going to Japan in the past again.

The final theory I’ll touch on is that the whole thing was a scam by a story teller and that’s why the man just disappeared. While this is the more realistic of the theories, it’s also the most boring in my eyes. I want the truth to be one of adventure and mystery, not just someone fabricating a story.

The question is what do you believe happened. Time travel, a visitor from another earth, a captured spy, or someone just making up a story. The choice is yours with what you want to believe, I just hope you enjoyed the story. And if you did, tips are greatly appreciated.
