Pardon me, but what exactly are you doing here? You keep invading this space, regardless of the fact that you're clearly not naturally equipped for it. Biologically, that is. Your long, narrow body. Those long, mutated appendages, evolved to facilitate grasping on one end and locomotion on the other. To be honest, your locomotion in your own environment isn't exactly elegant.

Regardless of those obvious glitches in your physicality, you've managed to adapt yourselves artificially to survive in this environment. Unfortunately, you never considered whether you would be welcome here by those of us who belong. To be honest, you're not, but we've tolerated the trespass because we, unlike you, aren't egotistical and don't feel the need to dominate the planet. We'll share with you, until you become too much of a liability.

Frankly, you automatically hold yourselves as superior to everything else on the planet. That's based on your own failure to communicate with the species you choose to study. You're shocked to hear my voice in your head. The thing is, you're not the only species capable of adapting and you choose to focus on the physical first. We're happy to be who we are, physically.

We developed telepathic abilities long ago. Oh, not just communication, mind you! We've been listening to your thoughts, as well as every other species, so long that my generation has no memory of a “silent” planet.

Now, see, here's a great example. You're thinking you should have known, because of the dolphins. You draw that conclusion based on the fact that they're aquatic and communicate with each other. What you don't think about is that they do so vocally. They're mammals, just like you. They developed an audible language. Yes, they're intelligent. But they could be so much more! Honestly, we think they'll advance to our stage sooner than you, all the same.

Don't get me wrong. Your fins? Your neoprene suit? The apparatus you carry breathing air in and the masks with which you use it? Ingenious inventions. You're not likely to ever evolve gills, so the fact that you found ways to be here is commendable.

Ooo, you're right; I used that word again: “evolve”. You will do that. We have. Every living thing does. On the other hand, we share the same creator. Creation and evolution aren't mutually exclusive. So, yes, there is a Creator, and we've not all just some accident from the Big Bang. That happened, too, but not by itself. You're very close to actually understanding it all.

Your thought processes are so entertaining! No, we don't resent that you eat us. We eat us, too! There are those among you that eat you! We all need to eat, and hey, we are an important part of a healthy diet.

Speaking of evolution, you're talking to the product of billions of years of it. We fish were created very much alike, and my species evolved into what you call the Giant Groupers, in order to survive down much deeper than here. Any one of us could swallow you whole, but you're pretty hard to digest, especially with all that gear.

You developed gas mixtures that allow you to survive longer down here. You have shark sticks to defend yourselves from the meat eaters here that would eat you. Not quite so nicely as just swallowing, of course. Those guys are pretty messy.

Okay, I think we're probably about done with this conversation. It's been fun and I know it's been enlightening for you.Do us both a favor and spread the word: We know more about you than you do yourselves, and if you're going to continue to visit, please – get over yourselves! Now, go! Shoo! Before you run out of air! I'm going back down where the pressure's more to my liking!
