I wander through the neighbourhood after the sun has descended, exploring the changes that have occurred throughout the day.
Every second block has a new house in some stage of construction. Some have recently had the concrete pad freshly laid, while others see the walls rising and still others have the roofing partially finished.
The upcoming olympics has certainly caused a housing boom to populate the area and everywhere I look I see change.
But I do have to wonder, who will reside in these houses after the memories of the Olympic Games have passed, or will they be abandoned?
I was challenged to write a drabble of the word 'boom'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

I think they'll be abandoned. Also, you never fail to impress me with your stories. The only thing that came to my mind when I saw "boom" was a bomb. I'm amazed at your creativity!
