Once on a road trip, someone tried to cut my son off in heavy traffic.

“What are you doing, debil?” he yelled at the driver.

I burst out laughing.

“What's so funny, mom?”

“You said debil in Russian.”

“But how would you translate it? My friends are now all saying debil because I use it often. They have no clue what it means, just that it’s offensive.”

“Fuckwit.”

“Wow, mom, I've never even heard that word.”

“It’s my personal preference. If you wanna be less offensive, you can say moron.”

“I like fuckwit,” my son said. “Sounds exactly like debil.”

100 words exactly makes it a Drabble.

The word debil is pronounced "Dih-BILL" if anyone's interested.
