Chapter 2:

Welcome to a Whole New World

I was stunned into silence. I was walking out of the light with my Sifu Bo Cha Chung, or Charlie Chung, or whoever the hell this guy is, to only have him take me to a “youth group/ the “real” Heaven’s Gate Cult. Seriously, from what I can tell I followed a man that has been sleeping with my mother, raised me like his own daughter, trained me in one of the most difficult martial arts in the world, and praised me as I mastered Lum Crane Kung Fu, then he goes and sets me up with what I was told was a “youth group”, only to find it is Notorious B.I.G’s “Junior Mafia’s” meets “Star Trek”. Complete with it’s on rival/klingon junior league. Speaking of “Leagues” apparently this “Dude” that I known as my father and mentor apparently holds a military like rank called “League Commander”!?! I mean what the hell is that? Since Neal Simpson talked to him and addressed him by “League Commander Chung” I at least know that the name “Chung” is the only thing consistent about him. It was that moment that I abruptly stop before I bumped into my new “best friend” Kelly Simpson. “Let me guess you weren’t paying attention to where you were going again? Seems to be a theme with you, or did you need help from my boyfriend again?”, Kelly said without even turning to look at me. I was about to rip right into her when on cue Kevin Nakano showed up. “Hey Honey, Look I been trying to reach you all day.....” , Kelly cut him off right there. “Yes, I noticed your time management skills are improving. You find the new chick, blow me off on your free period, and what else?...... Oh, yes almost cost us our treaty with the Nightmare Club. All in all I say you’ve had a very busy day.” Kevin looking both pissed and confused just simply said, “ You’re in one of your moods yet again, so that means it is impossible to talk to you right now. So, when you’re willing to take your head out of your ass, I’ll be in the briefing room.” Then turning to face me. “Look despite how things have gone, so far you’ve handle yourself pretty well. Try to keep that spirit, you’re going to need it for the rest of the day.”

No sooner had Kevin finished speaking Sifu walked up with yet another total stranger. “Tambra Black I like you to meet our top agent in the intelligence gathering unit or IGU Alpha Class Arris Quinones.”,Sifu Chung said beaming as he walked up to me. “So, this is the prize pupal I’ve been hearing about. My theis on your 3 month mountain training is what gave me my push for a promotion in the IGU!!! I am so honored to meet you!!!”, exclaimed a very excited, and anxious Arris Quinones. Kevin, Kelly, Sifu, and Arris where all looking at me funny. It was then I realized that Arris had his hand extended for a handshake. I looked at his hand, and then into his eyes. I asked the only question that matter to me. “The “Round Training” how did you know about it?”, I asked not even attempting to hide my anger or hurt in my voice. “I....well..... I was assigned to you”, stammered Mr. Quinones,” because you’re a bloodline fitting the “Death Blade” ring.” Arris nervously replied. Then turning to Sifu Chung he said, “She doesn’t know. You didn’t tell her yet!?! Why bring her here and not do that???” The look of shock and hurt on Arris face was nothing compared to Sifu Chung’s own stone cold expressionless face. “Now you know why you were told not to talk to her until after this afternoon’s briefing. Tambra is to go through the trails

in two hours. She needs a clear mind.” “I see so the ambush hits keep on coming. I don’t know what is going on, where I am, but I do know what really is going to happen. I am going back home, and far as I am concern Sifu, you can just stay the hell away from me and mom!!!”, I yelled at him. It was the first time I ever did that and to be honest it made me feel worse. I actually couldn’t cry, but I wanted to sooo badly. However, the anger I was feeling at the time was so hot that it was like my tears were evaporating before they could even fall.

Kevin spoke and that was it. I just lost it, and without any warning I yelled at him to stop it. I continued with, “Look I know you mean well, but this is too much, please can you get me back to Arlington Virginia so I can go home..... Please.” Kevin look at me sadly. “I am sorry, but isn’t up to me.” I didn’t say a word just started walking. Kevin ran up to me and saying “Hey you don’t even know where you’re going” I turned and faced him. “I need to get away from HIM I said in a dark and cold voice that even scared me. Sifu Chung didn’t move, and Kevin looked between us both. “Look you’re basically father and daughter, and you both love each other. You have to fix this.” Sifu Chung then barely above a whisper simply said to Kelly, Arris, and Kevin. “Please leave us to talk please”. Kevin, Kelly, and Arris simply nodded and left.

Sifu Chung finally show emotion on his face. With tears in his eyes he turned to me and said, “I know you’re in the dark, but you have to be. You’re potential is more than anyone knows. You and the kids here are part of the Atlantean or Babelian heritage.” I looked at my adoptive father, and said, “So, I have Babylonian heritage is it?”, I asked. “No Babelian, like in the book of Genius the “Tower of Babel”? Well you’re now standing it.”, Sifu Chung explain. Now this is where I really lost my mind. I couldn’t react to him, nor could I believe this. All I knew then was I just walked into a column of light to get to wherever here is. I was shocked, angry, and confused. So, I did the only thing that came naturally. I told him to prove it. Without saying a word he gestured for me to follow him. A few minutes later I was outside and realized it was dark and that there was something moving in the air. That something when my eyes had adjusted was a whale. The “sky” I was looking at was a dome. We were somewhere in the depths of the ocean!?! Sifu Chung said the Tower of Babel was never a tower at all. It was a ship from another planet.

“Wait? So, you’re saying that there is no God”, I asked. Sifu actually smiled at this and said, “No I am giving you undeniable proof that not only God does exist, but what the human spirit can do if we truly unite.” I looked at the man that was my teacher and father, “You’re saying a lot and instead of answers you’re only raising more questions. Like you’re saying that in ancient times the technology existed to fly into outer space? That is why God destroyed this ship?” Sifu Chung sighed, and then smiled. “No that is why God took away all knowledge of this technology, but entrusted to one hidden race of people. The Atlanteans. God created all life, and that is why we have the “Death Force” and “Life Force”. God wants a real relationship with all of us, but we don’t want it with Him.” Sifu then paused and looked towards me. You are part of the Earth and stars. Your bloodline is of the Babel solar system. There were two Planets one called Olympus and the other Babel. Viper of the of the Royal house of Raines, is from the planet Babel and the Province, or Country as we on Earth would call it, Atlantis. He is the true leader of the Royal house of Raines, and that makes him the King of Atlantis. However, there is a war between the

two planets Babel, and Olympus. Olympus uses their technology for war, and rule their lives of a warrior nature. Where Babel as a whole is a technological marvel. Only one Nation on Babel was able to successfully create a balance of peace and war through technology. It was the Atlanteans. Their culture is based of both a warrior tribe mentality, but also very advance in technology as well. They discovered the metal known as Marion, or Atlantean Steel. It is a metal that stays in a liquid from, but when mix with gold, and iron, with a electric current running through it can become a indestructible substance. Through Atlantean technology we’re able to forge the metal into a cloth like material that enable not only for military use, but flight, and space travel as well. It can even withstand the stress of hyperspace travel. I stood there listening to what I swear was a sci-fi movie plot.

Sifu Chung must have realize I wasn’t taking all this well. “To much Tambra”, he asked in that protective voiced he used, when he realized I was troubled. “I am pissed off and mainly at you. How is it okay for you to tell me you’re sleeping with my mother, but all the while you were training me to be some kind of space warrior? I’m on this secret warrior’s quest? So, what is next I am to be fighting in some unknown war in space, or is the invision happening already?”, I know I was talking to him from anger, and to be honest it was like I was outside of my body and looking at me and him. Just that I wasn’t me, it was this whole new person that was angry, and didn’t have any control over her life anymore. Her dreams, and wishes did they even matter now? Worst off am I a stranger to myself now?

Just then a Morgan Freeman voice popped up from behind me. “Well I see that you made it here alright,” boomed a velvety baritone voice. I spun around to see Viper Raines walking towards me. It was strange, it was like the guy never aged, and even though I new he had to be knocking on 70’s door, he moved like he was 22 years old. He stopped a whole foot in front of me, looking me up, and down, and asked, “ I know it’s been a long day, but would you like to spar with me in the CTR? Oh, and by CTR I mean the Combat Training Room?”. I just stood there not saying anything. “Come on it will be fun, and with my Marion armor on you can really go to town on me. Also, I would like to give you something.” As Viper reached into his pocket, Sifu Chung, after giving some kind of funky salute, spoked up. “Grand Commander Raines, with all due respect, I fear my recruit is not ready for the trails. This is my failure not hers, and I take full responsibilities.” Viper just smile. “I have been watching, and I know what needs to be done”, said Viper commonly. I really had it at this point. “So, we just meet in person for the first time, and you’re well acquainted with my needs?” Marching up to this man with all the anger of a enrage lioness protecting her young, and through gritted teeth I demanded, “Oh Tell me great and powerful one what is it I need.” Sifu simply bowed his head in shame, but Viper looked as if he was watching his favorite Saturday morning cartoon. He cooly withdrew his hand from his pocket. In it he held a black box. When he opened it, it was a ring inside. “I know this is the consider the south still, but I am not of consenting age to marry you I am afraid.”, I snarled. He merely chuckled at that one.

“You’re a very clever girl, and to be honest you’re the closest I ever came to his attitude, personality, and strange since of honor. You could have easily fought Kelly, Princess, and Laura, but didn’t. However, the thugs like Jeremiah, C.J., and Michael you knew to thrashed

them. Then when they attacked you again, you showed concern for their well being after their defeat. Please put on this ring. It will show you who and what you’re being recruit for.”, Viper stood there holding the ring out patiently waiting for me to take it. “I guess this will make everything right. At least tell me you told my mother about this.” , I said to Sifu without even looking at him. “Yes, she knows because even though you met your grandparents before they died, they are from this ship.”, Viper once again replied. I was really upset by now said, “Look you said putting on the ring would help me figure out what to do next right?”, Viper nodded his approval. I then snatched the ring out of his hand, and put it on her index finger on my right hand and.......... Nothing happened. I didn’t feel or looked any different. Viper smiled and simply said, “Are you ready to listen to how it works now, or are you still too upset?” I just started my breathing exercises focusing my raged and replied. I am ready now. “Good, also calming yourself down with the breathing exercise is extra nice. Now it doesn’t matter which hand you put it on, but it must go on the middle finger. Then with the ring hand make a fist, and have the ring point upwards. Now with the opposite hand make a fist and connect it with your wrist on the ring hand, while still keeping it like a fist and having the ring point to the sky.” Then Viper showing me, by making his hand look like a sideways “T”. I copy the form perfectly, and then suddenly my hands and arms were being cover by a shadow like substance. Leaving everything that it touched would be covered in black. It did this until my entire body was covered. Once I was completely covered I couldn’t see nothing but pitch dark. Then slowly I could see my body as if I was in daylight, however everything else was in darkness. Then out of the darkness stepped out a man all dressed in black. He had two swords strapped to his back, and his face was covered in a what look like a ski mask for Special Ops. He also had black gloves on, and a white bandana on as well. His shirt looked like a crossed between metal and cloth somehow woven together. His pants where baggie, and his boots seem to be made of the same material as his shirt. He walked over very casual towards me and stop just shy of two feet away from me. He then took off the mask, and smile. He was like the same race as Viper. Yet he even seem younger. “Well” I said, “is this a dream, or is it real.” The mystery man just stood there looking at me. I was getting really tired of all this secrecy. “Okay I guess actions speak louder than words”, I first went into my crane stance, and then started doing my tiger form. Once a finish I sat down cross legged on the floor to begin meditation.

The entire time the strange man just watch. After five minutes he spoke. “You are unique. I have waited over countless millenniums to finally be free of the “Life Force” and let my spirit go on to the next life. You are a honorable warrior. Raines has done well in choosing my successor. I looked at my freighting host, but showed no sign of fear. “I didn’t know what it is I will be taking over from you.” I replied. “Why my dear, you’ll be the first of the new Shadow Clan. That ring can only work with that of a bloodline of the house of Hon. You are special because you’re of the bloodline of both Babel, and Olympus. Now please imagine how you want your uniform to look.” I looked at him and simply said “Excuse me?”. Then he laugh and said “Just think of what you want your uniform to look like and it will appear.” After all that has happened so far I just went with it. I closed my eyes and I pictured in my head, my elevation breathing mask, my black S.W.A.T. combat clothes I got from “Ranger Joe’s”. These were basic police BDU’s, or if you’re a fan of WWE and Janet Jackson it was a cross, between “The Shield”, and Janet’s “Rhythm Nation” outfit. On my back was my two butterfly swords, and on my left calf was my divide

collapsible bo staff attached. I could either make it into three sectional staff or single bo staff. Then to top it off was my blade like sunglasses to cover my eyes, and my S.W.A.T. style baseball cap for my head. I open my eyes and now I was wearing the image in my head!!!!

“Well, the new ultimate assassin is looking great. I am proud to have you carry on my name “Dark Edge”.” I looked at the man and said “Is that your name or code name.” He replied “Both. I am the killer of the King of Atlantis, and his Queen. His son was my sworn enemy until we both realize what the war had cost us. In order to ensure that “Armada Class Weapons” or “A.C.W.’s” didn’t fall in Death Shades hands, Knighthawk gave the access to the Atlantis Ark to Viper. The last Warrior King of the Royal house of Raines, and to assure that the bloodline as well as the weapons could never be used for evil or destroyed.” I looked at him as I took all this in. “You said that you killed the King and Queen of Atlantis?”, I asked him. “Yes I murder Viper’s parents, because I am from Olympus.”, he said sorrowfully, “but what we didn’t know was that we were pawns in Death Shade’s game.” I knew this was going to make my head spin more, but I asked anyway. “Who was Death Shade?” “The bride of Drake and aunt to Viper”, The original Dark Edge replied, “She would later become the acting Queen of Atlantis. Drake was King’s Elow’s brother, and he was the acting King until the rightful ruler, Elow’s son Viper, could raise to power.” “Drake had came to the aid of his brother, who was in the nursery. Fighting me. I had already cut down his sister-in-law, and was about to kill his nephew, when his brother engaged me in mortal combat. Elow commanded his younger brother to take his son to safety. Little did I know at the time it was coded to how to best preserve to royal bloodline. They knew if I killed the child there would be no king, and Atlantis would be divided between the Royal Houses of Babel. By law the crown could only be past from the siting crown to their eldest child. If the Crown had no children, or in the event of death of both the eldest child, and the siting crown, the royal land fell to the order of the other kings, until a new royal family of the land, can rise to power. However, if the eldest does live, but not of the consenting age of at least 25 years, then the throne remains officially vacant until the eldest child can ascend to the throne. The guardian or surviving family would be the unofficial or acting monarch until that time. It is done this way to help discourage assassinations, or political marriage for the Throne.”

I thought to myself, “Am I a monarch?” “No you’re not”, said Dark Edge. I looked at him shocked. “You’re able to read my mind?”, I asked? “No we are merging our knowledge, skills, and thoughts.”, his voice said. I notice now that he was talking to me, but never moving his lips. “Think of it as me downloading important files about me into your head.” Looking nervous, I asked him, “That is supposed to be cool how again?” Then I knew everything and worst saw it too. I saw him and felt and could remember his mission. His mission to kill the House of Raine. I saw Viper’s mother beg for her child’s life, and fight valiantly to protect him. Still she was out classed, and Dark Edge ran his blade through her. Then there was the raging howl form the king himself Elow. He knocked down the door and his guards rushed to engaged Edge, while he went to his wife. That was when I could feel Edge use his biokinetic force fields. He is able to use this energy to create 10 hard duplicates of himself. However, he was invulnerable when he didn’t use his duplicates, but the more duplicates he created the less invulnerable he became. So, by duplicating to his max he was as mortal as the next man. I also realized that he,and now myself, could jump, or more accurately “Switch” with the duplicate. Meaning he could simple

make a duplicate appear say on top of a building, and then Switch his consciousness with the duplicate or empty shell. Thus moving both his physical and mental form to a new area. If the duplicate was fatally injured, it would just fade out of existence. If however he was wounded or fatally injured when he was switching he could die. He could also used the biokinetic force fields to create whip like tenikles from his arms, and use them as whips or grappling hook lines to swing out of danger. He could infused his swords with the force fields, and with cutting motions, send large cutting projectals form the swords. Of course this couldn’t be done all at the sametime. If he had duplicates out then now of these powers could be used, plus he was vulnerable again. However, when not using the duplicates he couldn’t be hurt, and or cut and was able to send cutting projectiles through his swords, as well as have force field like whips come from his arms. He could also produce and throw energy like daggers, and throwing stars from his hands, Now I could do all this and I knew how. I also knew all the forbind forms of the Death Ring that it collected from Olympus. They were similar to my training of Lum Crane, but also different. My skill and his merged as well. I literally was becoming and not becoming him all at once. All of his skill and use full knowledge I would need to function was following into my head. Then I return to the Assassination of the King and Queen. The guards where no match for Dark Edge he cut them down like wheat being separated from shaft. He then turned his attention to what was left of the Royal Family. Elow stood up the rage in his eyes said everything. Attacking with his Viper Gauntlet that he wore on his left hand and sword in his right hand he let out all of his fury and rage. He fought more skillfully and dangerously then his Guards and even though he couldn’t injure him, he was able to force Dark Edge back and way from his dead wife, and now crying son. Just then the young Prince Drake jumped in and drew out his sonic blaster rifle. He quickly got off two rounds that caught Dark Edge fully in the chest. Though not hurt, the blast did knock the killer off his feet. Then Elow jumped in between the inturdore and his baby brother. “Take the young prince and go!!!!” Yelled the King. “You know what to do.” At the time Dark Edge didn’t know it then, but the King used the code word to tell him which escape plan to use. If had said, “you know WHERE to go” he was to escape through the guard tower, however since the King said “you know WHAT to do.” Meaning to use the decoy escape pod. Edge fell for it. Long story short, Drake took his nephew in his arms and made for the escape pod. Edge charging his swords with biokinetic energy was able to overwhelm King Elow with an attack and behead him. Then he went charging after the fleeing Princes. He saw Drake jump into the pod, and shot out of the escape tube. Using his Duplicate teleport method, which only works as long as he has line of sight by the way, was able to get outside quickly and became fully whole in time to jump on the exiting pod as it left out of the shoot. Seeing that the two princes where inside, he performed a perfect black flip off the pod. Jumping twenty feet into the air, and forming and “X” with the biokineticly charged swords above his head. Then with one powerful cutting motion sent a big “X” that cut through the pod like a knife cutting through jelly. The pod went a few more feet before exploding. Seeing that nothing exited the pod before he cut to pieces, Dark Edge was satisfied that his mission was a success. Shooting out a biokinetic line from his wrist he broke his fall and swung to safety.

Back in the escape tube and inside a secret compartment, Drake watch everything on the monitor. He had given his nephew a sedative to sleep, that way he didn’t have to worry about him giving away their position. He looked shocked and horrified at the sight of his brother’s

death. He knew he would be in the safe room for 10 hours, then the next phase of the plan would be to go through the secret hypertube only known and access by the royal family where he would emerge in the care of the safety of the council of “The House of Royals.” There with the video evidence he would present what had happened, and receive sanctuary for the New young King and himself, and his own bride.

I saw and remember the whole chain of events as if it happened yesterday, and I actually did them. I also now had along with my own training all the insight and skills of Dark Edge himself. I was feeling light headed, and Dark Edge said, “Well I think that is enough for now. However, tell Viper that I am sorry, and that I prepared you for one last sparring session.” I was about to ask what he meant by that, when I was flooded by more memories. Great, another sucker for nostalgia like mom.

Once I returned from inside the “Death Force” I saw that I was still wearing my new combat uniform. Viper in return was wearing his family’s traditional Royal Battle Gear. However, it was the Version that Knighthawk, or his Uncle Drake had designed and built. “I hate this. It is like I have a stranger in my head, but they have my voice, and inside view of all my personal thoughts and feelings.”, I said aloud. Viper just smiled, and said, “You are now the final member, and just as I thought Dark Edge was very pleased with you. Now are you ready for you and I to duel?” Looking around I try to understand how I felt. “Yes, I do want to duel with you, however Dark Edge said that he was sorry for what he did to you. I feel that he really is. I also know how he destroyed your family. Yet you are now allies? My memories haven’t shown me why that is so.” Once again Viper just smiled. “Please Ms. Black, give the process time. You are still in the “downloading” phase if you will. You will have over several mellinuims worth of knowledge. There is no way you could handle that all at once.”

Just then I felt a slight tingling sensation in my head. Then without realizing it I start rattling off Vipers powers. “Your suit is first prototype designed by your Scientist Uncle Drake. Your suit ,though looking like a baggie cloth like substance, is able to withstand extreme temperatures, explosions, heavy arms fire, space travel, and flight. You have zero point energy repulsors that give you the ability to fly. They also help you control the gravity around you. Giving you the ability to make things heavier, or lighter which gives you in away super strength. Still no zero point energy no super strength or flight, so inside a vacuum you’re pretty much on an even playing field. You’re traditional Male Viper Gauntlet is made of Marion metal that gives you the ability to morph it into any small and mid level arms fire. Also you have the traditional shielding option, as well as bladed weapons.Then there is your helmet. It contains a mouth piece that looks like fangs, but really is your “Dragons Breath” attack. You pretty much have a flamethrower for a mouth. Thanks to the face plating it protects your face from the napalm like fire. Your eye lens are able shootout freeze ray blast. Your gloves and boots are black, and your pants and BDU top is a beige color. You are the founding master of all of Earth’s martial arts, and because of this developed a “skeleton key” for all martial arts, and is the supreme grandmaster, because he knows just about all counters, and styles for Earth, both known and forgotten. You called this style simply “Key”. It is a very hard style, because it basically is combinations that combined several different styles. Losely in Chinese Martial arts we learn

about “Chi” or the spiritual part of martial arts. With “Key” is similar, but has a more focus on the spirit on the supernatural plain. Thus given us access to both the “Lifeforce” and “Deathforce”. Both forces depend on each other for balance. If one becomes more powerful it automatically starts the other to bring it back into balance. Fore example the “Lifeforce” cause more magic, and monsters like Vampires, Werewolves, and even dragons. All of these things are from the abuse of the “Lifeforce”. On the other hand hydrogen bombs, nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, are from the abuse of the “Death Force”. That is why you hid Atlantis when you saw how the abuse was getting out of control.” “Oh what a rush!!!” I said after that mouthful.

“Well I see that you’re learning fast, and that you’re able to adjust to the different skill sets of the mind melding well. Now shall we have our little dance?”, Viper asked me. I just nodded and followed him to the CTR. There Sifu Chung was with Arris Quinones in the control both. “Okay Arris said this is my beta combat duel program. I designed it just for you two. Good luck!!!”, you could tell Arris was a kid on Christmas morning. Soon the big room that was white walls, ceiling even floors start to hum. Then the lights dimmed, and the room seem to melt away. I then saw the shiolete of Viper’s body, and the bulk of his helmet. Then the white light that was eyes began to glow. There was a high pitched whine, them followed by a flash of light. Viper was shooting his freeze ray beams at me!!! Still like with Michael earlier that day I was jumping, diving, and dodging out of the way. Then unsheathing my swords defelted a shot back at him aiming for his legs. While I was doing this I was also charging the swords with the biokinetic field. He jumped to avoid the blast, and I sent two “blade strikes” ,as I was calling the cutting projectiles launched from my swords, forcing him to change direction in midair. I took this time to move out of sight. When he recovered Viper started to looked around the room. “For someone that just learn this a few minutes ago, you’re good kid..... Scary good.” Then using my duplicates I shot five out in the surrounding battlefield. Viper turned his Gauntlet into a gatling gun and started to attacked them, but may sure to keep his distance. As he is obviously keeping alert and moving super fast, I was keeping up with him and waited until I got a good shot at his flanks. Then I made two duplicates appear and there, and had the other five vanished. This confused Viper, and before he could recover the two “new” versions of me were already cutting into him. As he started to fend them off I got into the next position. As soon as he destroyed the duplicates I pounced like starved jungle cat on his prey. I couldn’t believe how much faster I was, or how could string along an attack strategy so quickly and powerful. I landed a flying monkey kick to the face. This cause him to stager back then I got the bright idea, to wrap my biokinetic field around my first. I then use my Buddhist Fist Strike and that sent him crashing to the ground. “I see now I forgot how good Dark Edge truly is. It doesn’t help that you’re an skill fighter too Tambra. Combine you’re one of the most powerful and deadly fighters I have a ever face.” ,said Viper. Arris looked at Sifu Chung, “You must be really proud right now. You know that is not an easy praise to receive from him.” “I also know the fight is not over.”, said a concerned Sifu Chung, “Still I can’t help to feel a little proud at her performance and her adjusting so quickly.” Arris smile then looked shocked at the screen. Viper started to fly and through rocks, and other debris at Dark Edge, and she just dodge, kick, or simply cut them in half. While she was doing that Viper took that time to fly in close and start the hand to hand fighting up close and personal. Then pouring on the freeze ray and napalm attacks, forcing Dark Edge to focus her biokinetic fields solely on defense. This didn’t mean she was defenseless.

Using her butterfly swords she parry the blast of cold and fire, but instead of directing them back at Viper she let him charge in. Chung said she’s doing the same thing she did with Michael. Sure enough as soon as Viper closed in for an attack, the new “Dark Edge” dodge, but this time with her butterfly swords lined up against her arms. She jumped up, with arms extended, started to spin, and looked like a living buzzsaw. She cut into Viper five times in five seconds. Even though the Marion Armor suit wasn’t damaged , there was still enough force to knock Viper down. Then for the knockout blow when Dark Edge landed, she release the cutting “X” attacked that kept Viper down for the count.

“I see now that you’re far from a push over. Chung what are you teaching her? I thought this was to be sparing with a fine tune warrior, not the next supreme assassin!!!”, chuckled a very please Viper. I realize that he didn’t go full press, and the fact that he could take that hit, all be it wasn’t the hardest I can throw, still get up like it was nothing. That was when I notice that we had an audience. There as Neal, Luke, Keith, Alexis, Laura, Prince, Christine, and of course the Queen herself Kelly. She walked over to where door was and enter the CTR. She then did the same fist gesture I did to turn into Dark Edge. Kelly however she didn’t turn all black, but a silver color. She emerge in what look like a body fitting knight of old suit. It was a shining metallic with a flowing metallic cape. Her helmet looked just like a knight visor, but it had a blue light and the rest of her helmet was a slim down football helmet. Except the face mask part didn’t reveal any part of her face.. Just a white knight with a glowing blue eye visor, and it was walking towards me.

Kelly, just simply said, “I am not a test, I am not a pushover, and I don’t give a damn how good you’re supposed to be. YOU need to learn your place and I am here to teach you.” I know a challenge when I hear one. “Vortex you are to stand down now!!!”, League Commander Chung said over the mic. “Vortex huh?”, I said, “My I ask what you do, or more specific what is your power.” “I can control any kind of wind current from solar winds, to hurricane winds. I can make compress air too. I can also control temperature or the winds from blazing heat, or artic cold.” I looked right at her, “Look I don’t want nor need to start trouble, but if trouble finds me I will end it.” Vortex didn’t move or said a word. “Wait you’re the BITCH that will rui....” Dark Edge was cut off by a gust of wind, and she was blasted clear across the room. League Commander Chung was furious, “Damnit Vortex stand down, Kelly stand the hell down!!!”, bellowed League Commander.

Viper jumped in. “No LGC. Chung a challenge has been issued whether we like it or not. You know our law, and our ways, and in ten minutes they will battle.”, Viper declared. Chung actually had a turned red at this point. I looked at him and he actually growled, “What are you doing? When will you learn humility? Why is everything a fight with you?” he was almost crying after that. I wasn’t phased, I understood that my temper was a problem, but so was Kelly’s. Besides I wanted to see what she could do with her super powers too.

Sifu Chung acted like he could read my mind. “No I can’t read your mind”, said as if he actually could, “but I been around you since you where a baby. I know you are wanting respect, but when are you going to realize that your actions need to be done with honor. Please I am proud

of your skill, but your attitude is causing me great shame. I taught you better than that.”, Sifu preached to me. I just stood there. I looked at him and simply said, “Well you can have your secrets and I am to be okay with it, but now you’re worried about a challenge that I didn’t asked for, but need to take. This girl has been asking for it, and not to mention accusing me of taking her boyfriend. I had nothing to do with that, but he helped me on what is really been a shocking, challenging day for me, and flat out terrible day for me. I had to find out through some strange galitac hazing that I am to be a super whatever, and the information is still streaming into my head.” Sifu, looked at me mad and puzzled. “Super whatever?”, he asked, and I simply replied, “Look you say you’re a good guy. How can that be true? I am a assassin. I have memories of being a man killing a mother in front of her new born child, and then with all intentions of killing the baby too. When the grieving father comes to their aid, the same man violently and without mercy kills him too. Then goes after the baby yet again to kill it. Only after being tricked into thinking he killed the child did he back off. This is how my first day of school is ending. I am not fighting her because I enjoy it I am fighting to numb the pain.”,after saying this to my Sifu, I thought I would be crying, but honestly I had nothing once again.

More importantly, you’ll be needed against Death Shade if she is really coming back.” Once again I am hearing more about this mystery woman that everybody is so deathly afraid of. “I don’t understand who she is outside Knighthawk’s bride. Wait I just said KNIGHTHAWK instead of Drake. I know that Drake is Knighthawk!!!! More importantly than Drake is Knighthawk, but I have no idea who Knighthawk is!?!”, I yelled. “He is the Ultimate Warrior to every come from the “Death Force”. He is a living walking non-flying Starship fighter. That is able to generate Black Holes, and Wormholes for transportation. Able to run at super hyper speed. It is also made of pure Marion metal, and gives the wearer super human strength and weapons. Thus making the wearer unstoppable.” “Okay is that your suit then”, I asked? “No, I don’t have the power suit.”,said Sifu “that honor is still being decided, either it will go to Neal or Jason. Keith and Luke already have their power suits like Kelly.” I thought about it and just shook my head.

Look it is crazy I thought, but time is wasting. “ I need to get ready I will meet you at the CTR.”

Looking at the man that I loved all my life as my father, teacher, provider, and yes protector I could only see him as one thing now...... traitor. “I did everything you told me to do. I know you’ve not told me everything, and even worst you let me walk into this as blind as a bat.”, I paused for a second so I could let my words sink in to my teacher. I let two minutes pass, then I started again. “I could’ve actually died today. You knew on my first day of school the dangers that I faced, and you let me go faced them blind, you let me have powers, and the memories of an assassin, and never let me know your true

attentions or thought how this would affect me for the rest of my life. The only control today I have and I realize how little it is all the same is my fight with Kelly is really the first thing tied into this that I have some say or control.” Just then there was a knock at the door. Sifu and I gave conflicting answers at the sametime. I shouted “Come in!”, while Sifu shouted, “Not Now!” We both looked at each other, and then shouted again at the intruder, but this time when both answered at the same time we gave opposite answers from our originals. I shout this time, “Please come back later!” and Sifu shouted this time “Oh alright come in”.

Once again there was no movement or sound and the door started to crack open. Then peeping around the corner like a kid knowing he was in trouble was Kevin. “Don’t shoot”, he said as he walked in. I just looked at him. “Hey how long have you been preparing to meet me?’, I asked as he step in fully now. Man this guy was just not like other Asian guys, and at the risk of me sounding racist I never found them attractive at all. That all changed when I met Mr. Nakano. Suddenly I get puppy love? I know this is what teenage girls do, and since I am a teenage girl this is suppose to happen. I am supposed to want to go to prom, I am supposed to be worried about college, and I am supposed to be, be, be oh my God he’s looking at me. “I guess your mind is all over the place.”, Kevin said. “I just wanted to see if you’re okay.” Sifu Chung walked up like a proud protective father all of sudden. “She’s not the one that isn’t ready, it’s me that is losing my mind.”, Sifu Chung said. “I just caused the worst thing a Sifu can do. I lost my students trust and respect.” Kevin looked left then right between Sifu and I. “I know this is a rough time, so maybe I should go, and they are ready when you are.”, he said. “No we are just finishing up, please stay.”, I looked at my new friend, and yes I’ll even admit it my father. I was scared and now there’s a whole new part of me that I didn’t know. Apart of me that would kill a baby for a cause and not lose a wink of sleep of it. So, as far as the day has gone Kevin Nakano was the small bright light that didn’t make me feel like I was a monster now. You really don’t want to be late for your first challenge with Mayhem INC.”, he’d stated almost nervously. I just nodded my head in agreement, then said, “Plus it with Kelly, so that makes things more interesting for all parties right?” That turned both Sifu Chung and Kevin’s heads. “Look I know you guys are literally beefing right now, but she’s not too bad once you get to know her.”, Kevin said. “Well I don’t know myself anymore, and I had no choice either. Look how is this going to work?”,I asked no one in pictacular? “The first person to score three knockdowns on their opponent wins”, replied Sifu. I looked at Kevin, and said “So, a TKO is how you win, but isn’t that dangerous. Couldn’t the fighter or fighters be hurt if they are knock down through force even once? You guys are going to the next level with this one.”, I replied. “That is why it is a challenge and not a sparring session. Look I am sorry I know how jealous Kelly can be. She got her heart broken by a cheating boyfriend, and she is basically well making sure you don’t take what she consider hers. Plus, it doesn’t help that both Grand Commander Raines, and League Commander Chung have given you high enough praise, that you come across to be able to beat her in combat.”, Kevin looked at me and I knew that this was all part of the trails. “I understand now. You’re giving me this power, these skills and you need to see if I am going to use my new found skills

and powers to kill as ruthlessly as the original Dark Edge.” “This dangerous challenge is to make sure I can be controlled, because if I get out of line there is a chance the world finds out about Atlantis.” “See I told you she was smart.”, came from Grand Commander. I just rolled my eyes. Kevin looked like he was watching the beginning of Armageddon.

The CTR was just buzzing with excitement, or at least it felt that way. I was neither nervous or excited. Honestly at this point I wanted to be as far away from everyone as I could. Then there was this other part me. It wasn’t Dark Edge’s presents, though it certainly agreed and felt the same way, but I wanted to fight something. I wanted revenge. Was this the rage that I said everyone was afraid of? I didn’t know to be honest I didn’t care. I was just tired of being tired. Kelly was not in her armor, but she quickly fix that when she saw me. After transforming back into “Vortex” we entered the CTR.

Well last chance to back out I thought. Just then Vortex’s visor seem to glow a dark and brighter shade of blue. “I don’t suggest you backing out now”, she warned. “ Let’s just do this, mom’s cooking meatloaf for dinner”, was my reply. Once again the room started humming, and the lights dimmed. I did my quick transformation into Dark Edge, and it was on. Vortex flew straight up and shot out several blast of compressed air at me. I just jumped out of the way. Then while running vertically up the wall I sent out several blast of biokinetic energy daggers to get her off balance. Then with my kinetic lines I caught her by her ankles. Then I performed a backflip and with my momentum was able to pull Vortex down to the grown with me. I didn’t give her time to recover however. I then gave the line a strong tug and pulled her from the ground over towards me. As she was thrown helplessly towards me I performed, a perfect flying back kicked that sent her faster in the direction from which she came. Crashing into the wall. I then shot several duplicates of me over to her to pound on her. Vortex just waved her hand and the all went flying in different directions. Then before I could transport Vortex commanded the air inside them to collapse. They all folded into themselves before disappearing. I could feel my invulnerability returning and knew I had to press my attack. This time however, I drew my butterfly swords and sent a cutting arch right at the recovering Vortex’s chest. The shot caught her full on and she staggered backwards. While Vortex was trying to regain her footing, I rush halfway across the room. I then jump across the room landing with a downward striking motion knocking Vortex back again. However, when I came in with diagonal slash towards her head she blocked with her arm. Then from there went into full on charge with a “Key” attack. She would have surely killed Dark Edge if her shields where down, and she knocked her down into a heap with a combo making them both even at one knockdown apiece. Dark Edge was not accustomed to losing and she wasn’t about to start now. She looked at her adversary with enraged eyes, and decided the kid games where done. I sheath both of my swords, and detached my collapsible bo staff from my leg. I then motion for Vortex to bring it. Vortex didn’t disappoint. She shot off several compressed air shots at me, and at the same time she took to the air again. I started doing several highly complicated gymnastic type moves to dodge the incoming attacks. Vortex remembering what happened last time simply flew away from me and shot more concussive air blast, and made sure that she was keeping me off balance and not her. Then like a Patriot missile she swoop down onto me. This forced me to jump backwards and into a spot several feet behind me, but just as I landed the floor exploded sending me into the air. Now that I wasn’t

paying attention that is when Vortex sent several wind currents. I must have looked like a rag doll being flung around the room!!!! Finally I was suspended in the air by a mini tornado. Spinning around and around faster and faster till finally Vortex remembering her punishing blow, had the tornado shoot me out towards her. I flew through the air like a Nolan Ryan fastball, and was caught, and swatted down like a fly to ground with a spin kick from Vortex . I actually made an impression in the floor when I landed. This gave Vortex a 2-1 lead in the knock down range.

I am not going to lose this fight I mutter a very angry to myself. I lay there as if I was out, but in actually shot another duplicate in the corner out of sight shortly after impact. She then “Switch” teleport with the duplicate, and just waited for Vortex to move in. Vortex must have realize the strategy that was going on and continue to shoot air blast down on the motionless Dark Edge. They obviously weren’t strong enough to do permanent damage, but it got the point across that Vortex wasn’t in the mood to be play with. Finally the decoy disappeared. Staying in the shadows, I tether line to pull me up to the ceiling. Then hid in plain sight as she looked around for me. Hiding in the rafters, behind the hot hologram projecting lights, I was able to cast several different duplicated on the ground floor of me. Once again keeping her distance Vortex flew up higher and began to crush and smash them. While she was doing this I got my bo staff ready. As soon as I felt my invulnerability back at full strength I struck. I threw the bo staff at the furthest rafter, but made sure that when it hit would recashade of it and hit Vortex. Still even if it miss it would also distract her, and draw her attention in the opposite direction. Lucky the bo staff was fast and quick enough to take her by surprise and caught her full on in the jaw. This force her to fly with her back towards me. I didn’t waste this opportunity I jump at my oppant with all the stealth of a leathly jungle cat. No war cry, now brage of blade slices or energy daggers. Just me jumping with my biokinetic Buddhist Punch came crashing into her back. The punch was so devastating that I think I set off a minnie sonic boom. Vortex surprise reaction was she actually screamed a little, and was falling to the ground. However, before she recovered, I was able to generate enough biokinetic energy to charge up my blades yet again. I performed the same falling attack that the assassin Dark Edge preform black flipping 20 feet, and at the high of my arch sent a cutting “X” attack into her back. Vortex caught the entire blast to her back, and it seem like she was rocketed to the floor. This time it was Vortex that hit the floor hard enough to cause an imprint in the ground.

“Well played, Well played indeed”, Vortex said as she pulled herself out of the whole she created to break her fall. You actually manage to cause me to fight out of a tie. But I have only lost a challenge once, and that was to Neal, and only NEAL can beat me!!!”, screamed Vortex. Meanwhile I was swinging out of sight again into the rafters, however this didn’t matter. The whole room in that instance was turned into a wind tunnel. I was banged against the walls and ceiling this time. Then I was brought quickly down only to be stopped upside down, and abruptly in midair by a mini tornado. I was literally hanging like that face level to Vortex. She floated over to me. “Okay here’s the deal,” began Vortex, “I want to see what you got, but we aren’t changing back to civilies. Oh, no we’re going to do this Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter Two style.” and with that the tornado turned me right side up, and dropped me to my feet. Then Vortex landed on her on feet, resumed a fighting stance I didn’t recognized and said, “Round One! Fight.”

I don’t know if it is because of the suit, or her natural ability. Still her speed and strength were beyond incredible. I parry as much of the blows as I could then I got inside positioning and try a Evander Holyfield combo inside to the body. I wasn’t really hurting her but I was making her stand her ground, but I wasn’t able to really get here to one knee either. I had to do something fast. I then when for a throw for the win move. Faking that I was about to go down and do a sweeping attack. She simple moved out of the way and into position. I was able to grab her and make a decent effort at another throw. She just went with the throw and with the momentum held on to me arm and put me into a throw of her own!!! So, when I was about the land I just did the same thing. We reversed each others throws 4-5 more times, till Vortex decided to not hold on and somersault into another fighting stance. I then rushed in, and started my offense. Vortex was right at home with this. She counter and blocked everything I threw at her. I then just stopped fighting. I just stood there. Not advancing, but not letting my guard down either. I just stood there waiting for her to respond.

Vortex stood there for a few minutes. Then her body began to shake like she was laughing uncontrollably. I was furious, but I didn’t move. This chick was asking for it no doubt, but I knew I had to be patience with her here. One mistake and this could go beyond bad for me. Vortex for her credit just simply waited. She then nodded and I nodded in return. We then both broke our stances, walked up to each other, reset our stances, and we were ready nodded to each other again, and the fight continue.

It seem like we fought for what seem like a long time. Neither fighter taking advantage. Plus I notice I never got tried either. It seems when I am in Dark Edge form I can fight for long extend times without rest. It is a rush isn’t Vortex said as she pounded on me with another awesome combo. Even though we both wanted this to end, we both refused to use any of our powers. Woman to woman we wanted to see who had the better Martial ability. Still thanks to her Marion armor and my biokinetic shields we couldn’t cause any real damage. “Looks like we’re going to be at this all day”, said Vortex. I simply replied “In this form you’re correct.” That was when I decided to test Vortex’s honor. I changed back to Tambra Marie Black. Vortex just stood there for awhile. Then with a slight nod of her head, she too changed back into Kelly Simpson.

I see now is that better. Then the speaker blasted over the intercom. “Are you crazy this is to much stand down!!!”, the voice belonged to Sifu. We both ignored it. For the final time we walked up to each other and formed our stance, and wait to fight. Once again. “Tambra, Kelly you have no armor or protective gear on. Please stand down!!!”, Sifu pleaded with use. We just started fighting. Kicking, punching, blocking, and countering. It was as if we were able to use our abilities even out of the suits. Then out of nowhere we landed simultaneous kicks that knocked us both down. Just then a gas started to fill the room through the floor. Since we were both down we caught it at is full blast. “I am sorry but you left us no choice.”, said Arris. I looked up through the glass at my sadden Sifu. I simply smile. “Good”, I thought. “ Now you get to feel like I did all day today.”, then I thought. “Wait will I wake up in time to still eat Mom’s meatloaf?” That was my last thought before I passed out.
