Waiting For The Night.
Anticipating The Moment Of A LifeTime
Celestial waited and waited for this moment to arrive.
The sky was a beautiful dark velvet curtain full of stars. Celestial took a deep breath, absorbing the crisp, fresh air surrounding her; as she looked up, her breath almost left her body as the sky filled with beautiful gold streaks from the meteor shower around her. She clapped with delight as she watched the golden sky dance in all its golden glory above her.
She waited a little longer; anticipating the moment, observing the big white moon above her. Then it happened.
The sun danced around the moon three times, enshrining it in ultra-gold brilliance.
Her boyfriend, Denny had been anticipating this moment too. He pulled out the most beautiful sparkling diamond ring, and stared at it, wondering if this really was the right time to propose.
Celestial came from a family of healing witches, but in there culture there were strict rules surrounding marraige.
A proposal was only allowed to happen once in a life time, on the night of the 'Earth of Love,' a festival where the sky shifts and dances, honoring the new witch bride.
Celestial was too engrossed in watching the sky to notice that Denny had pulled out the ring. She had never seen this night before, which was the one night of romance for witches of her kind.
She loved Denny, and she had been waiting for him to propose for some time, but witches had many difficulties getting their partners to committ for a lifetime, because rumours circulated that they were evil, and would trap any man with the 'Unforgiveness Curse' forever; meaning that if the marraige failed, they would be banished from relationships forever, or burned to ashes.
Denny had two minutes left to make a decision, though he didn't want to be too rash in making it.
The moon had now shifted into galaxy colours, and was swirling like crazy. The moon only did this when it had chosen the right couple to anoint their vows.
Denny knew he didn't have long.
He had to do this now.
He spent a few seconds watching Celestial with her beautiful ebony curls blowing in the wind. She really did take his breathe away as he looked at her, and he knew that she was the one.
Suddenly the whole sky swirled with Gold, Purple and Green.
It was the warlock gods telling him that he had to do this now, or face his fate of never loving or settling down again.
"Dear Gods! Please, just a few more moments," he pleaded.
His wish was granted, but only for the next two minutes.
Suddenly a warm, tingling feeling creeped over him as Celestial started stroking his hair, and he loved that feeling. She turned around, her ice blue eyes staring straight into his, and kissed him longingly.
At that moment, Denny made his mind up.
He wasn't about to lose this beautiful woman infront of him, just because she was a witch.
He got down on one knee, and held out the ring.
"Celestial; Queen of the witches heaven and earth. Will you marry me?"
Celestial smiled, and the whole of heaven smiled, as she said, "I will."
They magically floated to the moon, holding each other tight, as they kissed.
In Celestial's witches culture, all wedding ceremonies had to take place on the sacred moon. They were only allowed to marry once in a life time,
but for Celestial, once was enough; she had waited for this night for too long.
The ceremony took place with just the two of them dancing above the moon, and soon after, they were magically binded by a spell that kept them both together forever.
