It was Valentine's Day, and a gathering of companions had chosen to spend the occasion at a secluded lodge somewhere down in the forest. They had heard that the lodge was the ideal spot to move away from the hurrying around of city life and hang out.

The companions showed up at the lodge late in the early evening and immediately got to work unloading their effects and getting comfortable. The lodge was interesting and comfortable, with a popping chimney and agreeable furnishings. They made supper together, giggled, and recounted stories sometime later.

Nonetheless, as the night wore on, peculiar things began to occur. Entryways would squeak open all alone, and they heard peculiar commotions coming from the forest outside. The companions forgot about it as neurosis and headed to sleep, yet they couldn't shake the inclination that something was not right.

The following morning, they awakened to observe that one of their companions was absent. They looked through the lodge and the encompassing woods yet tracked down no hint of their missing companion. They attempted to call for help, yet their telephones had no sign.

As the day went on, individually, the companions started to vanish. They ended up being pursued by an obscure aggressor. They understood that they were in good company in the forest and that something was after them.

The gathering united together, attempting to figure out how to get by. They scanned the lodge for weapons and found an old hunting rifle and a couple of blades. They strengthened the lodge, barricading the windows and entryways, and alternated standing watch.

As night fell, the gathering heard a sound coming from outside the lodge. It was a low snarl, similar to a creature, yet they couldn't rest assured. Out of nowhere, the way to the lodge burst open, and they saw a figure remaining in the entryway.

It was a man, or what used to take care of business, canvassed in soil and blood. His eyes were wild, and he was gripping a blade. The companions attempted to fend him off, yet he was major areas of strength for excessively. They figured out how to stifle him and tied him up, yet they couldn't shake the inclination that they were still in harm's way.

They spent the remainder of the night clustered together, terrified of what could occur straightaway. In the first part of the day, they found that another of their companions was absent. This time, they found impressions driving away from the lodge, and they realize that they needed to move quickly.

They followed the impressions, equipped with the hunting rifle, and happened upon a clearing in the forest. In the focal point of the clearing was a huge, contorted tree, and lying at its underlying foundations was their missing companion.

As they moved toward the tree, they saw that it was shrouded in odd markings and images. Out of nowhere, the tree started to move, its branches connecting with snatch the companions. They shot the hunting rifle, yet the projectiles made no difference. The tree was alive, and it was after them.

They ran back to the lodge, yet they realized it was inevitable before the tree found them. They scanned the lodge for any pieces of information concerning why the tree was after them and found an old diary concealed under the flooring planks.

The diary had a place with a distraught loner who had resided in the forest quite a while back. He had been exploring different avenues regarding dull enchantment, attempting to resurrect his dead spouse. He had involved the tree as a concentration for his spells, yet the tree had taken on an unmistakable overflow of energy and was presently chasing down any individual who entered the forest.

The companions understood that they were in grave peril and that they needed to figure out how to stop the tree. They assembled the entirety of their boldness and got back to
