We just had our final open air beach dinner of the year, the moon is bright and we are walking back to our Motel. I know I turned the right way but I don’t see any lights ahead of us. We did not go the wrong way or we could have breached a restricted military zone.
Suddenly a woman appears out of thin air, only a couple feet in front of us. She says, you are not supposed to be here! Turn around and leave, forget that you saw me appear and you may understand in around 20 years.

Dream Comes True
CHAPTER 1 Too Good To Be I just kept my eyes shut and savored the wakening moments. The smell of the sea transported me to some of my best and most vivid memories, vacations, sand castles, playing tag with incoming waves. I remembered my vacations when I was a kid, the beach at Ocean View, the gentle surf because of it being just inside the Chesapeake Bay. Floating along in a 15 foot fiberglass runabout while watching the monstrous sized naval ships that were dwarfed by an occasional giant sized air craft carrier. Then I became aware of the bird song. The screech of gulls fighting over some morsel of food is unpleasant to many but to me it was just a deepening of the inner serenity. The chirps and cheeps of the beach darts which was my childhood name for the sand pipers. The deepening heat of a midsummer day was being overshadowed by my trying to remember if I had applied enough sun screen and done it correctly.

Smartystan
Flags flew freely in the summer breeze. They consisted of a gray and white human brain against a black background. Scales of gold sat just overtop the image of the organ. The sun rose at just the zenith and shared its light and warmth with the attendees to one of the country-states’ greatest accomplishments: the graduation of two women who had been in a halfway house and found their passions for art design and communications. Mala and Sheltham looked on with sunglasses and cheered the graduates. With the knowledge they had months to go before being up on that stage, they looked at each other and grinned. After the ceremony, they walked into a pizza restaurant that fit their budgets.
