Like

"She finally came, Grandpa!" The boys' voice effused, "Wait till you see her, she's a beauty!"

"I'm sure she is."

"Held the picture in my imagination, like you taught me!"

I'd had very real reservations, but promised myself I wouldn't rain on his parade. Not after all he'd suffered; after what we'd all suffered through.

Foolish in retrospect? Yes. We can all agree. But, I just couldn't bear to see the young one go without.

"Can I set up the target range, Grandpa, please?"

"Chores first."

"Yup, chores first, then ka-boom! Just like I imagined! Ka-boom! Ka-boom! Ka-boom!"
