Unexpected Uncovering
"Sex addiction revelation". Fiction story about someone who has just discovered something awful about their partner.

Jenna stared at the computer screen, unable to believe what she was seeing. Her heart was racing, her hands shaking. She had stumbled upon a hidden folder on her partner, Alex's, laptop. She had always trusted him, but now everything she thought she knew about him was thrown into question.
The folder contained videos of Alex engaging in sexual acts with other women. Jenna felt like she was going to be sick. She had been with Alex for two years, and they had just moved in together a few months ago. She thought she knew everything there was to know about him.
Jenna sat in front of the laptop, frozen, for what felt like an eternity. She didn't know what to do. She didn't want to confront Alex, but she couldn't just ignore what she had seen. She decided to confront him when he came home from work.
As soon as Alex walked in the door, Jenna was on him. "What is this?" she demanded, shoving the laptop in his face.
Alex looked at her, confused. "What are you talking about?"
Jenna opened the folder and showed him the videos. Alex's face went pale. "I can explain," he said.
Jenna was too angry to listen. "Explain what? That you've been cheating on me?" she shouted.
"It's not what you think," Alex said, trying to grab the laptop out of her hands.
But Jenna wasn't having it. "Don't touch me!" she yelled, pulling away.
Alex took a deep breath. "Look, I know this looks bad. But it's not what you think."
Jenna was seething. "How could it not be what I think? You've been sleeping with other women!"
"It's not like that," Alex said, his voice calm.
Jenna couldn't believe his audacity. "Then what is it like? Enlighten me."
Alex took a deep breath. "I have a sex addiction," he said.
Jenna felt like the wind had been knocked out of her. "A what?"
"A sex addiction. It's a real thing," Alex said.
Jenna stared at him, trying to process what he was saying. "So you're saying that you couldn't help yourself? That you're a victim of some sort of illness?"
Alex looked at her pleadingly. "It's not that simple. I've been struggling with this for years. I didn't know how to tell you."
Jenna felt her anger start to dissipate. She had heard of sex addiction before, but she had always thought it was just an excuse for people who couldn't control themselves. But seeing the look on Alex's face, she realized that he was being sincere.
"What are we supposed to do now?" she asked, feeling lost.
Alex took her hand. "I want to get help. I know it won't be easy, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to fix this. I love you, Jenna. I don't want to lose you."
Jenna felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe this wasn't the end of their relationship after all.
Over the next few days, Jenna and Alex talked extensively about his sex addiction. Alex told her about his struggles, about how he had been using sex as a way to cope with stress and anxiety. Jenna listened, trying to be supportive, but she couldn't help feeling betrayed.
Alex started going to therapy, and Jenna went with him to some of the sessions. She wanted to understand what he was going through, but it was hard to shake the feeling that he had been lying to her all along.
As the weeks went by, Jenna and Alex's relationship started to improve. Alex was more attentive, more affectionate. He seemed genuinely committed to
