🌌 Under the Lanterns – A Journey to Find Myself

A Journey to Find Myself

By HazerBadsha FatehPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Have you ever walked through a city at night and felt that the glowing lights weren’t just brightening the streets, but searching your soul? That was me one night—wandering under lanterns, looking not for a destination, but for myself.

The Rhythm of the City

The hum of traffic, hurried footsteps, and voices of strangers blended into a rhythm I couldn’t escape. It was like a song—part drumbeat, part memory—that captured me completely.

A Childhood Echo

In the corner of an old courtyard stood a rusted swing. Once, it carried the laughter of my childhood. Now it swayed silently, like a reminder of moments I thought I had forgotten. I realized then that the past never truly leaves—it lingers like a ghost in the chains of a broken swing.

Redefining Beauty

For years I had listened to voices saying, “You’re not enough. You’re not beautiful.” That night, I whispered back: “Beauty doesn’t live in the world’s judgment. It lives in the courage to accept yourself.”

The Eyes That Changed Everything

Then I saw her—eyes dark as night, yet shining like lanterns of their own. She looked at me as if she had found an entire world reflected in mine. At that moment, I knew we were both stepping into a journey: not just of love, but of rediscovering who we really are.

Reflection

Stories are not only written by authors. Every human carries one. Some stories hide childhood mysteries, others remind us of silence in a noisy world. And some, like mine, are written in the quiet rhythm of the heart.

In the end, I found myself—not in books, not in the city lights, but in the eyes of another human who wordlessly told me: “You are not alone.”
