The young princess Reina is sick. The royal doctors were at their wits' end. The king asked his daughter what she wanted and Reina said she wanted the moon in the sky. The king immediately summoned his chief minister Chamberlain and asked him to try to pluck the moon from the sky.

Chamberlain took a slip of paper out of his pocket, read it, and said, "I can get ivory, blue puppies, insects made of gold, and find giants and dwarfs...."

The king was impatient, waved his hand, and said, "I don't want any blue puppies. You get me the moon right now."

Chamberlain looked difficult, spread his hands, and said, "The moon is made of hot copper, 6,000 kilometers above the ground, and its size is bigger than the princess' room. There is really nothing I can do."

The king was furious and told Chamberlain to get out. Then he summoned the mathematician of the palace. The mathematician, whose head was bald and who always had a pencil behind his ear, had served the king for 40 years and had solved many problems in his hands. But this time he listened to the king's request and excused himself, saying: "The moon is as big as the whole country, and it is nailed to the sky with a giant nail. I really have no way to take it down." The king was disappointed to hear this and waved his hand for the mathematics master to withdraw.

The next person invited was the jester of the palace. He was dressed comically and had a string of bells hanging all over his body. He jumped and jingled and ran to the king and asked, "May I ask your majesty, what is your command?" The king again told the original story of the matter. The clown listened to him and pondered for a long time before he slowly said, "Your Majesty, your ministers are all wise men of vision, but you have different opinions about what the moon is. Why don't you ask Princess Rena what she thinks the moon is?" The king agreed.

The clown rushed to ask Princess Reina. The little princess lay on her bed and said breathlessly, "The moon is a little smaller than my fingernail, because I put my finger in front of my eyes to block the moon. The moon is about the same height as the tree, because I often see the moon resting on the tree stall outside the window."

The clown then asked what the moon was made of. The princess said, "I think it is probably gold."

The clown hurriedly asked the craftsman to build a small moon out of gold and gave it to the princess. The princess was overjoyed and recovered from her illness. The next day, she got out of bed and played in the courtyard.

But near dusk, the king began to worry again, thinking: "If my daughter sees another moon rising in the sky, will she make a fuss again?" He hastened to invite the chief minister and the mathematics master to discuss countermeasures.

The chief minister said: "How about giving the princess a pair of sunglasses? Wearing sunglasses, the princess will not be able to see the moon."

The king disagreed, saying, "If the princess wears sunglasses, she will fall down when she walks."

The master mathematician walked back and forth in the room, head bowed in contemplation, when suddenly he stopped in his tracks and said, "There's an idea Your Majesty. Set off firecrackers! Set off firecrackers and sparks to light up the night as if it were day, and won't the moon be invisible?" The king shook his head and said, "The sound of firecrackers is too loud, it will certainly keep the princess awake."

The clown covered the princess with a blanket and gingerly walked out of the room.
