Lizzie sat in a lime green sunlounge beside the universities community pool. Not only was Lizzie here to soak up the sun in her baby blue two piece swim suite. She was here to catch attention from the new life guard Steven.

Lizzie sat, trying not to drool, as she took quick glances at Steven's thick abs. He must work out with heavy weights constantly, she thought. She imagined him lifting her off the sun lounger, carrying her into his bedroom. She quickly turned away, pretending she wasn't checking him out as much as she could when his eyes peaked in her direction. Did he even notice her? She hoped he did.

" Go say hi to him," Megan said.

" No," responded Lizzie, hoping Steven didn't hear her. She grabbed her sun tan lotion bottle and started applying more lotion to her waist and hips, rubbing it on in circles. Please look at me she hoped, but Steven kept his eyes on a few children swimming in the deep end.

" I'm going to get into the water," Megan said, leaving her friend, daydreaming.

" Ugh," Lizzie groaned. She'd been going to the pool weekly. Why hadn't Steven noticed her yet? What was his deal? Things were so much easier in high school where every boy desired to speak to Lizzie any chance they got. Things were so different in college.

" Lizzie?" a voice said close by. Lizzie opened her eyes.

" Jimmy?" Lizzie said, noticing a familiar face" I thought you went to Princeton?"

" I did, but decided to transfer to Michigan. How are you? I go by James now," James said, grinning.

" Oh nice," Lizzie could hardly believe her eyes. Back in high school James was a huge nerd, acne and all. He now looked like a total James Bond no pun intended" I'm sorry, but you look so different," she probably hadn't spoken to him since Sophomore year.

" No problem. I got a gym membership. My aunt owns the place,"

" We should catch up sometime," Lizzie said" let's meet up for dinner. My number is 5550837794,"

" Alright. Cool. Sounds good. Could you give me your number again? Sorry. Short attention span," James joked, grabbing his phone.

" So did you ever talk to Steven?" Megan asked Lizzie later back in their dorm, playing minecraft on her Xbox.

" Who?" Lizzie asked, scrolling through James's Instagram page. Her fingers moved up and down his page like a joy stick.

" You know Steven... The new life guard?"

" Oh right. No, I didn't," said Lizzie, enjoying his profile.

" Who was that guy you were talking to by the pool?"

" It was James,"

" James?"

" Yeah. He went to high school with us. Used to go by Jimmy,"

" Oh really? Wow. What a hunk,"

" I know. I asked him to go out to eat later. Want to come with?" Lizzie asked. She wanted to eat with James alone, yet didn't want to come across too desperate.

" Thanks, but no thanks. I have tons of homework to catch up on. Keep me updated tho,"

Lizzie nodded her head. Then her cell phone rang. It was James. They decided to meet at the local burger place on campus. Lizzie dashed toward her closet, picking out the perfect dress, denim jacket and boots.
