Miss Sassypants crouched, twitched, and launched herself at speed towards the object. It was shiny. And it was going to die.

She passed over a threshold and was enveloped in darkness, but her murderous eyes adjusted in an instant and she kept her victim in sight.

A puff of air, stirred by her arrival, pushed the shiny just out of reach, but her instincts launched terror and violence in the form of her claws, skewering her victim before it could escape. Death was imminent.

“Miss Sassypants! Num nums!”

Hmm… Perhaps a short stay of execution would be in order.
