To Walk Away or Not to Walk Away
My heart hurts
There are times we have to make the hard decisions; those decisions that break our heart.
I’m struggling with such a decision this very day and I know the answer — I know the way forward — but still I’m procrastinating in making that final decision.
What is this decision that’s so hard, you ask?
It’s the painful decision to cut ties with my son; to cut ties for good, because whenever we communicate or spend time in each other’s company, we clash.
To the point that it’s just too painful to continue.
Hence the devastating decision that needs to be made.
I was challenged to write a drabble of the word 'clash'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

We'z Walking on a Path Ruled By Numbers
This road has felt endless, yet limited; every step tracked. Inching away along this path, I feel trapped. Confined. Left to this narrow passage that may one day amount to something greater. Time is not a concept. Only distance. From start to finish, I laugh and cry and attempt to convince myself that this is worth it. I cannot stray. I must keep going. Every step etched, is a step taken, is measured as more than before. I cannot even recall how I got here. Maybe I don’t even really exist. Just another tick marking off a perceived presence. Of what though? I am just another line drawn. Nothing more, nothing less.

Roar
"You have to get up. Come on. Come on!" He was dazed but he could hear the urgent pleas of another. He opened his eyes to blazing sun and he smelt the dryness of dust. His leg hurt. He reached to put his hand on it and it felt wet, slick but also rough where dirt had stuck, like a crust. His head was pounding, like his heart was in his frontal lobes, trying to beat its way out.
