Joker, a former hunter who later contracted the farm, put down his shotgun and picked up his hoe.

Unexpectedly, there was a severe drought in the first year, and the farm had no harvest, and now the livelihood has become a problem.

One day, Joker's friend Martin approached him and said, "Recently, the government is calling hunters to kill camels. For every camel killed, a reward of fifty yuan will be given. How about it, come with me."

Joker asked strangely, "Didn't you mean to protect wild animals?"

"Yes, but over the years, wild camels have multiplied in large numbers and competed with people for water sources. Now it has caused a crisis in urban drinking water, so the government came up with such a move."

Hearing what Martin said, Joker immediately nodded in agreement.

Early that morning, the two drove their pickup truck to the suburbs, where they knew there was a half-dry lake where camels often went to drink water. The truck was going at full speed on the deserted path, and suddenly, Joker noticed that an old man not far ahead was standing in the middle of the road waving at them. Joker quickly braked, but fortunately he didn't touch the old man, and he shouted angrily: "You are courting death!"

Seeing that the car stopped, the old man ran to the window and said apologetically, "My car broke down, and I stopped several cars, but they didn't stop, so I stood in the middle of the road." The old man looked at them equipment, and asked again, "You should be hunting camels, right?" Joker nodded impatiently, and the old man said excitedly, "Great! My name is Newman, and I'm also a'camel shooter ', can you take me for a ride?"

Without waiting for Joker to answer, Martin greeted warmly: "No problem, get in the car!" Newman hurriedly thanked him while picking up his luggage and getting into the car.

When they reached their destination, the three of them parked the car and split up. Joker went all the way north and soon found a puddle. The puddle was overgrown with weeds and was a good hunting spot. He stopped and hid in the grass half a man high, waiting for the camel to arrive.

In the blink of an eye, half an hour passed, and the camel still did not appear. Joker couldn't help but be a little disappointed. He lit a cigarette and wanted to relax. At this time, he suddenly heard a slight noise from the puddle. Taking a closer look, he saw a camel slowly approaching the puddle, taking a swig of water while paying attention to the surrounding movement.

Joker quickly picked up the gun, aimed it at the camel's head, and held his breath. Hearing a "bang" gunshot, the camel hissed and fell down.

Joker was so unhappy that the first shot was so accurate. He came to the camel and was about to call Martin for help. At this moment, he found that a man had also fallen to the ground not far from the camel! Joker took a closer look and was stunned: Isn't this Newman, how did he run with him? At this moment, Newman's head is still bleeding. Joker put his hand on Newman's nostrils and found that he was no longer breathing!

Joker couldn't help but gasp: He knew that the shotgun he was using was a shotgun. After firing, dozens of small bullets would be shot out in the shape of a horn, and the killing area was very large. Needless to say, it must be one of them. Shotgun hit Newman! Joker only felt a chill in his back. Although it was just an accidental injury, he was going to jail! What to do now, Joker's mind went blank. He wanted to find Martin, drive home first, and escape from this place of right and wrong.

Fortunately, the two were not far away. When Martin saw Joker coming over, he asked strangely, "Why did you come back so soon? I heard you fire a shot just now, did you hit it?"

"No, I didn't hit... I, I'm a little uncomfortable, let's go back." Joker said weakly.

Martin held the gun and said, "Okay, you sit here and rest for a while. When I hit a camel, we'll leave!"

Joker nodded, slumped on the ground, and lit a cigarette.

After a while, Martin gestured to Joker and whispered, "Here comes the camel!" Then he leaned down cautiously and raised his shotgun.

How similar this scene is to the scene of his own hunting just now. Joker looked at the honest Martin, and a bold idea suddenly popped into his mind.

There was another "bang" and the camel fell. Martin was about to check on his prey when Joker stopped him and said, "I just saw a camel running south, hurry up and chase it, I'll just watch the dead camel for you!" Martin looked in the direction of Joker's finger and said, "Really? Why didn't I see it?"

Joker said anxiously, "You scared it away with one shot just now. If you don't chase it, I'm afraid you won't be able to catch it."

Martin hesitated for a moment and said, "Okay, I'll look for it. You didn't get anything today, if you can catch that camel, it's yours!" Saying that, he held the gun and chased south.

As soon as Martin's front foot left, Joker trotted all the way to Newman's body. He touched the body and found that it was still warm, so he dragged the body to the place where Martin killed the camel, put it in the grass nearby, and went to the puddle to carefully wash the blood on his body, and then waited for Martin to return.

After a while, Martin came back panting heavily, apparently not finding the camel. He was about to speak when Joker said tremblingly, "Martin, you, you killed someone!"

Martin asked suspiciously, "Joker, what are you kidding?" Joker pointed to Newman's body not far away, shivering and said, "I don't want to believe it either, but it's true!" Martin was stunned when he saw it. He walked over to Newman, looked at the hole in his head, and tried his breathing with his hands. Suddenly, he broke out in a cold sweat and muttered at a loss: "God, how could this be? How could this be?"

Joker said sadly: "The first time I saw Newman, I thought he was a little abnormal, he looked like he was falling in the wind, not like a hunter. But you are a man who likes to do good deeds and has to ask him to get in the car. No, he ran around and something happened!"

Martin's face turned pale, and he squatted on the ground with his head in pain: "God, why am I so unlucky, this is going to jail!" Joker comforted: "You're just manslaughter, not a felony, if you can Surrender yourself, maybe you can get a lighter sentence."

Martin's tears fell, and he said desperately, "You also know the situation in my family. If I go, the family will have no source of income. How will they live in the future?" Joker patted his chest and swore: "Brother, don't worry, I will help your family."

Under Joker's repeated persuasion, Martin surrendered. After saying goodbye to Martin, Joker was also relieved that as long as someone took the blame, he could continue to live in peace.

Soon, Newman's manslaughter aroused strong dissatisfaction from the Wildlife Conservation Society, who organized large-scale demonstrations to demand that the government stop hunting camels to avoid more casualties. The government, under pressure, suspended the camel hunt. Needless to say, Joker is out of a job again.

In the blink of an eye, when Martin was released from prison, Joker had found a job as a waiter in another city in order to make a living.

One day, when Joker was delivering coffee to the guests, he found a video in the store that was playing a TV documentary - "The Photographer with the Camel - Newman". Seeing the familiar words "camel" and "Newman", his heart beat suddenly, and he couldn't help but stop.

The documentary tells the story of Newman's legendary experience: it turned out that Newman's real identity was a photographer. He followed and photographed wild camels all year round. Due to overwork, he got liver cancer. At this time, he knew that the government was calling gunmen to hunt camels. He had repeatedly negotiated with the government, hoping to stop the killing, but the government was never moved. So, he decided to use his little life to save those camels at gunpoint, and finally directed a tragedy of being accidentally killed by a "camel gunman".

After Newman's death, the lawyer received his suicide note. In the suicide note, he hoped that the lawyer would go to friends of the Wildlife Conservation Society and ask them to use his death as an excuse to force the government to change its mind. He also said that his wife died prematurely and had no children. If the gunman who killed him turned himself in, all the millions of deposits he left would belong to him, which could be regarded as a compensation for his innocent implication.

The film ends with a photo of Newman and the camel. Joker stood there in the wood, regretting that the million had belonged to him!
