New Sweden University commencement ceremonies included a speech by the head of the class, egregia cum laude Barth Whitestar. At just seven-years-old the black boy had achieved the feat and entered the history books as the youngest graduate of a degree-granting institution.
He went up and spoke with excellence and exactitude. Then, he stepped down from the podium in uproarious applause.
A Channel 30 reporter asked him what it is like to be so young and successful already.
“I know that I have a home on this planet. I’m not a pilgrim or a stranger in this land of riches.”
