The Woman in white
The second story in mystical series

It was a foggy night, and a man drove down a deserted road with one hand on the wheel and the other holding a beer. In the distance, he spotted a beautiful girl dressed in white, standing on the roadside and waving for a hitchhike. He stopped, offering her a lift. She climbed in, and her beauty captivated him as they drove toward an abandoned bridge. When they stopped, the two shared an intimate moment. She kissed him, but in the next instant, she snapped his neck with supernatural strength, letting out a chilling, unnatural sound before vanishing into the night.1C0764
Meanwhile, Charan and Bharath woke up in their motel room, continuing their relentless search for their missing parents. As they packed up, Charan asked how they were supposed to find their parents. Bharath pulled out a well-worn diary left by their father. It contained leads, notes, and hunting techniques meant to guide them. Their journey took them toward the capital city, but as they drove, the police radio crackled with news of a man found dead near the abandoned bridge—his neck twisted completely around. The brothers exchanged a knowing look, sensing it was no ordinary case, and decided to investigate.
They arrived at the crime scene, posing as officers "John" and "Paul." The local authorities, perplexed by the bizarre nature of the crime, revealed that it was the fifth such death in three months, all with the same gruesome signature. While inspecting the victim’s car, Bharath found the man’s phone. There was a garbled recording, but after cleaning the audio, they heard a chilling female voice saying, "I can never go home." Charan researched the area and discovered a tragic story about a woman who had committed suicide near the bridge years ago.
That night, the brothers returned to the bridge. A spectral figure of the woman, dressed in white, emerged from the fog and attacked Charan. Despite her overwhelming power, Bharath’s expertise as a hunter gave them an edge. He fired salt-filled shotgun shells, causing the ghost to momentarily dissipate. Tracking her backstory, the brothers learned from her husband that she had drowned herself in the lake after discovering their children dead in the bathtub. Her rage stemmed from her husband’s infidelity, which had driven her to kill the children and herself.
When they pressed the man for more details, he grew angry and ordered them to leave. Charan calmed Bharath, apologized to the man, and persuaded him to reveal the location of her burial. Reluctantly, the man disclosed that her body had been buried near the old house where the tragic events unfolded.
The brothers headed toward the burial site, but their journey was interrupted when police stopped them for impersonating officers. While Bharath distracted the officers, Charan slipped away and reached the old house. Inside, he was confronted by the ghost, who whispered seductively, asking him to kiss her. Charan, recalling the ghost’s tragic past and the warning in her husband’s story, refused. Enraged, the ghost attacked, hurling Charan across the room with incredible force. Injured but undeterred, Charan remembered her haunting words: "I can never go home." He deduced that her rage stemmed from her inability to enter the house where her family had died.
Using this knowledge, Charan lured her into the house. Though weakened, she was still dangerously powerful. As she pinned him down and attempted to rip out his heart, the spirits of her children appeared, holding her back. This brief reprieve allowed Bharath to burst in, shotgun blazing. He fired repeatedly, giving Charan enough time to salt and burn her remains.
The ghost’s power began to wane, but her final assault left Bharath gravely wounded. Summoning the last of their strength, Bharath delivered a killing blow with a silver-edged knife, rendering her powerless as her bones burned to ash. As the flames consumed her, the brothers watched the ghost vanish for good.
Charan rushed to Bharath’s side, only to be shocked as his brother’s wounds began to heal on their own. "What the hell?" Charan muttered, but Bharath brushed it off with a wry smile.2ABB3C
The two climbed back into their Contessa. As the car roared to life and hit the highway, the radio played a haunting melody, its lyrics a reminder of their never-ending journey. The road stretched out before them, dark and endless, as they drove off into the night, ready for whatever came next
