The Wand Of Whatever

Saving the World, One Snack At a Time

By Alexander Siro MarieraPublished about a year ago • 3 min read

Genre: Fantasy/Comedy

Setting: The Realm of Kabloonia — a land where logic took a vacation, and reality was replaced by a suggestion box.

Main Character: Snogbert Plimble — reluctant hero, self-proclaimed nap wizard, and owner of questionable hygiene habits.

Chapter 1: The Firing of Snogbert Plimble

Snogbert Plimble was a nap wizard. Not a wizard who cast naps, but one who napped so profoundly that some said his dreams caused minor earthquakes in the capital. Employed by the Guild of Horizontal Scholars, his job was to test the softness of magical pillows.

Unfortunately, he had tested one for 87 hours straight and missed the Annual Slumber Report. For this, he was fired. Not that he noticed immediately — he was still napping.

When he finally awoke, fired and evicted, he wandered into the Jellybean Woods with nothing but a snack pouch and a dream.

Chapter 2: The Wand of Whatever

While tripping over a talking mushroom named Gary (“Watch where you step, fungal bigot!”), Snogbert fell face-first into a glowing pit. There, he found the Wand of Whatever — a magical artifact capable of doing… well, whatever. Literally.

Its first spell turned a squirrel into a jazz trumpet. Its second spell summoned a tiny opera singer that now followed Snogbert narrating everything he did.

He tried to toss the wand away. It grew legs and came back.

Chapter 3: The Prophecy of Utter Nonsense

In the kingdom of Flibberflam, the Council of Quasi-Important Elders reviewed the Prophecy of Utter Nonsense:

“When the sky rains teabags, and the gassy gnome sings, a slob shall rise with a wand of whims to face the Snaccident.”

And lo, the sky did rain teabags. And the gassy gnome sang. And Snogbert had the wand.

They sent a flying platypus to fetch him.

Chapter 4: The Snaccident Revealed

The villain was Baroness Kalecrunch, a tyrant who sought to ban all snacks and replace them with steamed celery sticks. Her diet cult — the Order of the Leaf — had already converted several snack-loving towns into quinoa communes.

The Snaccident? A plan to unleash a spell turning every chocolate bar into beetroot.

Snogbert was horrified. And mildly hungry.

Chapter 5: Baguette of Destiny

Along the way, Snogbert found a sentient baguette named Crustopher, who had once been a brave warrior turned into bread by a spell gone wrong.

Crustopher demanded vengeance and offered his crusty might in battle.

Together, with Gary the Mushroom and the opera singer (still narrating), they formed a very confusing fellowship.

Chapter 6: The Training Montage That Mostly Involves Snacks

Snogbert attempted to train for battle. He lifted donuts, jogged around pudding lakes, and sparred with gummy bears.

Mostly, he ate.

The wand, unhelpful as ever, occasionally turned his shoes into singing slugs or summoned thunderstorms of spaghetti.

Chapter 7: Attack on the Vegan Fortress

The team infiltrated Kalecrunch’s fortress disguised as kale delivery people. Crustopher nearly gave them away when he tried to stab a broccoli guard.

Inside, they discovered that Kalecrunch had already launched Phase One: the Beetrootification of Brownies.

Gary the Mushroom swore an oath of vengeance.

Chapter 8: The Great Snack Rebellion

Snogbert rallied the hidden snack lovers. Marshmallow knights, donut archers, and the fearsome Chocolate Moose joined the cause.

A great snack-fueled battle erupted. The Wand of Whatever summoned an army of soda-powered hamsters. It was epic. And sticky.

Chapter 9: Showdown with Kalecrunch

Kalecrunch confronted Snogbert atop the Celery Spire.

“You represent everything I hate: crumbs, carbs, and comedy!” she screeched.

Snogbert unleashed the Wand of Whatever. It turned her into a bowl of lukewarm soup. Crustopher ate a crouton in celebration.

Chapter 10: Peace, Snacks, and a New Nap

With the villain defeated, the Realm of Kabloonia declared Snack Day a national holiday. Snogbert was knighted — Sir Snooze-a-Lot — and given a palace made of cake.

He declined to rule, preferring a nap. Crustopher opened a bakery. Gary ran for office. The opera singer got a record deal.

And the Wand of Whatever? It turned into a toaster.

Everyone agreed it was better that way.
