Emma, scrolling through her social media feed, she comes across a profile of a man named Alex. He seems perfect, charming and well mannered. Emma and Alex start talking and hit it off, but Emma can't shake the feeling that there's something off about him.

As they continue to talk, Emma starts to notice some inconsistencies in Alex's story. He never seems to want to meet in person, and whenever she brings up the subject, he changes the topic. Emma starts to do some digging, and discovers that Alex's profile is fake. She starts to suspect that he might be a killer, preying on women he meets online.

Emma decides to take matters into her own hands and confront Alex. She sets up a meet-up and brings a friend along for protection. But when Emma and her friend arrive at the meeting spot, Alex is nowhere to be found. Suddenly Emma's phone rings, It's Alex on the line. He tells Emma that he's been watching her, and he knows all about her. Emma and her friend flee the scene.

Emma and her friend manage to outrun Alex, and they call the police. But the police can't find any trace of Alex. Emma starts to receive strange and terrifying messages from an unknown number. She starts to see shadows of Alex everywhere she goes. Emma starts to lose her mind, she doesn't know who to trust or what to believe.

Emma starts to investigate Alex on her own. She discovers that Alex is not just a killer, but a serial killer who has been active for years. He has been using social media to lure his victims. Emma finally finds where Alex is hiding, and she confronts him. Alex reveals that he is not only a serial killer but also a ghost who has been using social media to find his next victim. He tells Emma that he will always be watching her, and he will find her no matter where she goes.

Emma's confrontation with Alex leaves her with a traumatic experience. She becomes a recluse and starts to experience hallucinations of Alex following her wherever she goes. She starts to believe that Alex is not only a ghost but also a demon who has possessed her.

Emma's mental state continues to deteriorate as the visions of Alex become more frequent and disturbing. She starts to believe that she is losing her mind and that no one will believe her when she tells them about Alex. Emma starts to become isolated from her friends and family, and she starts to rely on alcohol and pills to cope with the trauma she has experienced.

As Emma's condition worsens, she begins to receive strange messages and phone calls from people who claim to have had similar experiences with Alex. These people tell her that they have also been haunted by Alex and that they have all been driven to the brink of madness. Emma starts to realize that she is not alone in her ordeal, and she starts to investigate Alex's past to try and find a way to defeat him.

Emma's research leads her to an old diary that belonged to one of Alex's victims. The diary tells the story of a woman who was also haunted by Alex and how she was able to defeat him by performing an ancient ritual. Emma decides to try the ritual herself, and she gathers a group of people who have also been haunted by Alex. Together, they perform the ritual, and Emma finally feels a sense of peace and closure.

As the ritual comes to an end, Emma looks around the room and notices that Alex is nowhere to be found. Suddenly, she hears a knock at the door. She opens it to find the police standing on the other side. They tell her that they have found the body of Alex and that he has been dead for years. Emma starts to realize that Alex was not a ghost or a demon, but a manifestation of her own trauma and guilt. Emma starts to receive therapy, and she finally able to move on with her life.
