What is Regret?

Regret is a complex emotion that often arises from missed opportunities or unfulfilled desires.

Regret is when both people feel sorry for something that happened.

We realized this recently. The person we used to love deeply didn’t feel the same way. Even if they knew how much we cried and felt sad after they left, they probably wouldn’t change their mind.

The big difference between us is that what we regret isn’t what they regret.

Sadly, they don’t value what we share. We think they just stumbled into our relationship, not actively choosing it. Maybe that’s just how fate works. But for a relationship to be happy, both people need to want it.

Regret often doesn’t match reality. True regret only happens when both people feel sad about it.

If you regret a trip, you can revisit the same place. But if you regret a relationship because the other person didn’t choose you, going back won’t change anything.

Regrets from a trip can turn into plans to meet again. But regrets from a relationship are often just wishful thinking.

So, it’s time to let go of that regret! Maybe there’s no such thing as real regret when it comes to emotions.

All regrets show that we’re not right for each other.

They’re not telling us to go back but to move forward and not make the same mistake again.
