The Torch & The Flame
things are not what they seem
She thought that Dorian would have given some rousing speech, a martyr’s last words but all he did was look lamentably at her and mumble hoarsely, “I’m sorry I failed”.
She kept her gaze on him until the wraith descended, blocking his death from view. When the creature moved out of the way, immune to the sobbing of an undernation echoing all around, those once tempestuous eyes were unseeing, vacant, and her master's gaze was slackened, drool pooling at the corner of his mouth.
What made Dorian Middlesaun Odalisques' savior was gone, and hope had died with him.
